who knows. He's got you beat on power, but those things are damn heavy. With drag radials you'll probably get smoked though - assuming he knows how to use them.

Do you have the option to run E85? That might give you the edge you need but it'll be close. Those things weigh 4200lbs.

Probably not without a custom tune for e30. The OTS maps aren't taking full advantage of your inlets.
Is he AT or MT? Do you have dct? What year is his car? Last edited by srey; 04-22-2019 at 05:35 PM.. |

I won against a random scat pack with Pure Stage 2s on E60 running around ~22 PSI. They have the power but are about 500~600 lbs heavier than our cars. You might have a chance but considering he is using drag radials I dont think you will win.

I saw a stock scat pack auto on drag radials do a 12.3 last year at the drag strip. The D/A was pretty good that night around 300 I believe. So figure from there

Just put it this way - it's built from the *factory* to do 1/4 mile drag racing. That is the only purpose for that car. The 335i isn't.
People can quote HP and mods and 0-60 figures all day, but in the end - BMW's strength was always in the corners and versatility. You can have kids, and own a fast, modded 335i - and your wife *probably* won't chop off your dick - no way you're doing that with a scat pack Challenger. It wasn't until the N54 that straight line speed was ever really a thing for an entry level BMW - an M3 from 20+ years ago was never fast in a straight line compared to contemporary sports cars. I mean, it wasn't "slow" - but in 1995, if you wanted to drag race, you'd buy a $15000 Mustang, not a $45,000 BMW. The only exception is the original M5. It was literally faster than even the supercars at the time. And you could still put your kids in the back seat (or your golf clubs, lol). Last edited by hassmaschine; 04-22-2019 at 11:25 PM.. |

I may retract my answer after some further research. I was thinking the scat pack was just another version of the hell cat challenger. I cant keep up with the numerous trims levels that dodge keeps coming up with. At 485hp and 4200lbs I think the 335 has some chance.

I dont know if you will win but it will be a good race. those things come with an onboard quarter mile recorder. Scat pack srt8 auto was my brothers first car, according to that quarter mile calculator stock it did 12.7 on the street. Eventually he keept practing and made it show 12.5 lol Id imagine at the track with good da, drag radials bolt ons and tune it can probably do low 12s high 11s at the track.
Ive also saw a fbo 335i n54 auto jb4 tune on michlien ps run 12.3. He said it was suppose to run high 11s i dunno if a stock turbo n54 can do that. Record the race and show us ! Gl! |

I would think most rwd cars would need a serious tire or just be on a prepped track with decent street tires and 2nd gear launch or boost by gear for that number I have limited bolt ons and ots e40 map

Full weight 8AT Scat Packs with good radials, decent DA and decent track prep are high 11-second cars at around 115mph. They will pull very low 1.7 to mid 1.6 second 60 foot times. Your BMW will not do that on street tires.
My prediction is he puts two car lengths on you out of the hole and you spend the whole track reeling him in. If your car can trap 122-123 on a 1.9 second 60 foot you can probably edge past him before the finish line. That trap would be stout for a stock turbo N54 running pump gas. |

Run the e30 mhd OTS with 5.5 gals of e85 and rest 93 Octane and you should be able to beat him by a 1/2 a car to 1 car length. That map on a IS with FBO + inlets usually gives between 440whp and high 11's on the quarter mile considering you have good tires and 7Spd DCT. He'll beat you if you race him on pump gas.

I didn't even notice he was trying this on pump gas.
Ethanol blend pack is $50. Just buy it and blend some, it'll be faster. Basically the easiest horsepower you'll ever get, just do what rsyed07 said |
