Emissions Passable Mods
Just joined the 335d gang after my 328i got totaled. Been researching and saw threads about the common problems & their easy fixes. Being that I'm in a state that requires emissions test passing, are there mods or tunes that I can do and still pass emissions?

Thanks. Does this works on stock equipment or upgraded?

All stock, no hardware changes or additions/deletions. Just a remap. Stage 2 is good for ~330 bhp. Ive had it since December.
Higher tune stages will require hardware mods and emissions will be affected. But ur ok with st2. |

I was considering the swirl flap delete and race pipe but emissions is required for car tag where I live.

If you could find a tuner that sets readiness to "passed" despite having any/all emissions components removed, you could potentially do much more than just a race pipe and swirl flap delete (assuming your state does not do a visual inspection as well). Unfortunately I dont know if there are any tuners out there that do this, surprisingly little info out there on this particular topic.

Yeah, I figured the actual tuners wouldnt advertise it. I just assumed that other enthusiasts would be curious and investigate on their own.

Do you know any good places in Atlanta for installation?

You don't need a race pipe if you want egr delete. You can delete egr and keep it looking stock. But best to get the coolant blocks for egr cooler and block off plate that goes where the egr cooler connects to the exhaust manifold to prevent any possible leaks of the egr cooler.
