Replace oil pan gasket N46n

I'm going to replace my oil pan gasket and know that this is a lot of work.

Now I am told by different people that they prefer a liquid gasket rather than the original one.

this would be because otherwise the gasket would tear again?
but this seems strong to me since the car is now 12 years old and has just been torn.

and the chance that the car will last another 12 years is also quite small.

what is your opinion ?
