This install is going to be the death of me. Hoses not set up for rear PCV valve, charge tube too short, fml.

Hit a final snag, which inadvertently is causing me to Uber tomorrow morning to the airport since my car is down. The lower idler pulley bracket does not seem right. The lower portion won't sit flush as there's a hump on the block. Screwing it in makes the bracket cockeyed.

Also, I have to completely remove the bumper to take the right duct out if I want the long extension to the air filter. For now I just have it connected to the plastic pipe.

Waiting to see is ESS will answer my question on the bracket.

After finding a post at 3 am, I see there were bad charge pipes in V1 batch, I'm assuming I have a bad one, and many people didn't even install the lower idler pulley because of a casting on the block on some N52s. I'm already pissed the directions and parts are so poor and I didn't even buy new!!

Damn that sucks. What did the seller say about the bad charge pipe? You bought it on eBay and I’m sure you’re protected someway somehow right? How the hell was he using it with a bad batch charge pipe?

I have it connected, I just had to heat it up with heat gun, put tremendous force to push it on the TB with one hand and tighten it with another. I also loosened the actual super charger so it was close to the TB and when both sides of the charge pipe were connected I tightened the SC bolts. Popped off the TB a few times but third time was a charm. I'm just worried once it's under boost it'll blow off. I babied it just to get to the airport and never went above 3k. ESS still hasn't responded to my email but I read they were replacing the charge pipes for free, since I'm second hand they probably won't.

I bet it pops off when you actually start to make real boost.

You could make an extension/coupler for now. Metal pipe inside, silicone outside so you have something to clamp to. If that makes sense.

It will. Fucking ESS. It irks me less only because all the other kits I bought were really good.

Every N52 owner should support projects like these. Regardless if you want to remain NA or not, these projects show companies that there is demand for improvements upon the N52 platform.

Good luck with the build, I'm excited to see you drop in the S65 in the (hopefully) near future

Everything is installed but I keep going into limp mode and throwing codes. Major jumpy rpm under 1k. Already checked MAF sensor, looks good. Think it might be PVC line, ESS gives you a T for the connection to the oil separator but when you have to connect it to the PVC on the back of the block the downward post/hose is super close to the block. I think it probably developed a hole (my only guess). Car was driving good for 30 miles then just shit the bed.
