The Walking Dead or Breaking Bad
With the popularity of The Walking Dead, which show do you think is better?
I know The Walking Dead isn't complete, but what would you pick at this point? I think BB is an absolute masterpiece with maybe the best acting I've seen. Perhaps will feel differently once WD is over, but it's not even close for me. TWD is actually hurting its legacy with season 6. Too boring. |

Breaking bad was fantastic! Probably watched the entire series 3-4 times. The walking dead wasn't that exciting to me I barely got through the first season and stopped watching it.

I like TWD but probably would have never watched it if it were not for Mad Men and Breaking Bad, both of which were better than TWD IMO. I caught both of those shows by recording them during marathons towards the end of their lives. Lots of commercials for TWD during those marathons, which are the only reason I gave TWD a shot.

These 2 shows are not even on the same level. BB continued to get better season after season until the end. As bummed as I was to see it end, they did it perfectly right. Go out on top. People talk about The Sopranos being one of the best shows ever -- and it is. But, there were some down episodes and seasons that dragged. IMHO, BB will go down as the greatest drama in TV history over time. Sir Anthony Hopkins wrote a letter to Bryan Cranston and said it was the best show he's ever seen. That's some pretty high praise!
I'm still a big TWD fan, but completely different on how they approach each season. I've read that they could literally go to 11 or 12 seasons.

I've seen all episodes and all seasons of both.
Breaking Bad is so much better than Walking Dead. I actually stopped watching Walking Dead for a long time (like over a year) after Season 3 because it was sooo slow and I was disappointed in the series. I kept falling asleep during episodes and could only watch them when I was most alert. Vikings on the other hand is the best series I have ever watched. Vikings blows Breaking Bad and definitely Walking Dead, out of the water, hands down. |

I only saw the one BB show, where there was a fly in the room. Was funny, but I just didn't get into the show. Maybe because I HATE flies, and have been understandably driven crazy by a single one myself.
Vikings is great. Lots of violence, but I learn some history along the way. . . and it continually reminds me how I need to struggle against my inner nature of violence to remain a civilized human. I think that internal dramam is also what draws me so much to TWD. |

TWD is just popular for the zombie aspect, which Americans are obsessed with for whatever reason. TWD is a good show, but the concept gives it an enormous boost. |

The episode was good if you understood and enjoyed the dynamic between Walt and Jessie, but AMC admitted it was done to reduce production costs. |

People call me Walt all the time, I guess I look like him. But not trolling about that being the only show I ever saw. I immediately identified with his "infatuation" with the fly, and then promptly turned off the show.

^ I suggest giving it another try, but start from the first episode and watch them in order. AMC runs marathons every once in a while that you can set to record and either binge watch or catch up over time. May also be on Netflix - not sure as I don't have Netflix.

Yeah- I know I need to consult, as this says a lot about my obsessive nature when Im passionate about something . I never got hooked on any TV show that way. I have my hopes set high for BCS, and cant wait for the second season to start in Feb 2016 ... http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-en...-a6737651.html

You're comparing apples to oranges. I love both shows, but they couldn't be more dissimilar. Breaking Bad is probably in my top 2 of all-time best TV shows I've ever watched. The story, the writing, the acting, all top notch.
The Walking Dead is also a great show, though, it's different. The writing is good, the acting is good (for the most part...Carl is pretty terrible), and the story is good, though it has its ups and down. You just can't really compare the two. That said, if we're playing desert island, and I had to choose one show to bring with me on blu ray to watch for the rest of my life, I'm picking Breaking Bad ALL DAY.
