Cleaning Supplies

I have a griot's garage big and small orbital.

I bougt their pads and polish's but they dont seem to do the trick, i mean they work well but not as well as I have seen on these forums.

Now its time for me to do my summer time car cleaning and prep. i need to know what pads and polish's and sealants to buy that work well and remove swirls.

08 G37 Coupe Red - Has medium swirls
07 335 E92 Black Sapphire - has medium - little swirls

What pads, polish's, and sealants should I get for this?

I'd be happy to help you remove some more of those surface imperfection and get a deeper shine back. Two of my favorite combos are:

Meguiar's Ultra-Cut Compound M105 - Lake Country Orange Light Cutting Pad 2x
Meguiar's Ultra Finishing Polish M205 - Lake Country White Polishing Pad 2x

OR

Menzerna Super Intensive Polish SI 1500 (PO83)
Lake Country Orange Light Cutting Pad 2x
Menzerna Super Finish Polish SF 4000 (PO106FA Nano Polish) - Lake Country White Polishing Pad 2x

Both of these work extremely well and should help remove some of those imperfections. If you want results closer to absolute perfection check out the Surbuf R Series MicroFingers Buffing Pads as well. This pad can be used with the M105, etc. with outstanding results. Check out these two articles to learn more about it:

Which ones would you recommend that work the best? Will either one work well with either cars. I noticed that you have only one polish and one compound. Do I need a wax on top of that as well to "seal" the car as well

Also how many pads would I need for each car?

personally I would get Menz powerfinish for your task. get 4 of the orange or white pads. call it a day.

If you're looking for perfection, then you will need to step up to M105 with a yellow cutting pad or Meg D300 with Meg MF cutting pad and follow it again with Menz Powerfinish or superfinish with a polishing pad.

as for protection, exactly what Eric have just said

hope this helps

problem is, otherwise I would have suggested powerfinish, is that menzerna announced they would no longer be supplying and producing powerfinish. I emailed and the response I got was "SIP does the same thing, so there is no need to produce both"

SIP cuts more, and finishes worse, so that statement is bogus at best! powerfinish is my favorite polish from menzerna, more so than 85rd since its so versatile! (orange, white, hydro tang, black can all be used with it!

Motastic, I'm definitely not not an expert detailer, but I went with Greg's first recommendation...the m105/205. I've been working my silver 335i and, even on silver, I can tell a difference. The paint looks so much more clear. One of the favorite sealants on this forum seems to be blackfire wet diamond all paint sealant. It's amazing how much shine and how smooth your car is after applying it. I can't wait to do my wife's dark gray RDX where I will really be able to see the fruits of my labor. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

I believe they tweaked the formula a little. It's not the same Power Finish as before, if what I've heard is true.
