bump stop question

When you guys changed the rear struts did you also change the bump stops? where they bad? I'm not changing the springs, just going from stock to Koni yellows struts.
They don't come with the struts by any chance do they? Thanks

My rear bump stops were crumbling at 110K kms.

Don't use Koni Yellow with stock regular or sport springs. Bad match.

And no, they don't come with bump stops.

I went and raised the car and I can see and touch the bump stops and they look and feel fine. should have done that before the post.
I bought the koni yellows on sale. I like them because their adjustable and don't want to lower my car. I already scrap every time I go up and down my drive way. Im at 91k mile with sport suspension.
Why don't the Koni and stock springs match?

Maybe because they're designed for performance springs. I tried them, and they didn't feel right at all.

You can get OE quality bump stops from Rein for $9 each, so why not replace them? Even if they're not bad now, at 91k they won't last much longer. Mine were completely disintegrated at 95k.

The Koni Yellow shocks won't match stock springs because you'll make the car heavily overdamped. Those are designed for stiffer springs, and you'll actually make the car handle worse by not changing springs as well. Overdamping causes the suspension to have a slower settling time, which means transient maneuvers will suffer.

I have read about people liking the Koni yellow with stock springs. Did not see to much negative about them till I made this post. I guess I will give them a shot and decide for myself.

Yeah lots and of people use OE springs with Koni yellows. Or even very near OE springs as is the case with the Dinan stage I setups.

Koni is a great match as long as you get the damping setting correct.

That depends on how many miles you have on the current suspension.

I'd probably change out all of the surrounding hardware, if you are close to 100,000 miles on the original hardware.

Koni yellows are great with stock springs. Get new bump stops.
