Service pricing

Hi

The car is three years old in December and the vehicle check is due soon. Just had the key into the Dealers and they have quoted:

£90.08 - Vehicle check
£225.00 - Oil service, inc microfilter (not due for 4000 miles)

Do these prices seem reasonable for a 320d?

They will also "break" your pads for £100, or "break" your fluid for £60.

They are also quoting £115 for oil service and £50 for micro filter but those are "from" prices. If you get cheaper prices from anyone let me know as I will need oil service in a couple of months.

Don't forget to supply your own oil. And you can get a microfilter off eBay for £25 too!

Is that the same as a "service" check though? If that is apparently an interim check between services which you're supposed to do yourself, how do we check the clutch fluid level...?

So now BMW are telling us that the so called advanced service regime that BMW employ isn't good enough and you need another interim check for 40 quid. Comedians.

How much do you save by supplying your own oil?

Well, oil cost for my car is around £120 from the dealer; I paid less than £40 supplying some myself...
