I had the same result, even upgraded to a downpipe and went to map 2, it felt a little quicker, maybe 20hp worth, but nowhere near the 60-80 I was hoping for. Sold the car and have a 335is on order, I guess they are right about the tunability of an n54 vs an N55. However, it is a good product and a great price, just didn't give me the power I was expecting.

Did you even try E-85 or race gas on map 7? I don't think so, you just wanted to get an IS because it's twin turbo in my opinion. There's going to be a turbo upgrade for the N55 soon so the only advantage I see in the IS is the DCT.

That is very weird that you did not notice a difference with the tune. I have had the BMS JB4 for a while and noticed an increase going from Stage 1 to Stage 2, then the software update with Map 5 introduced, then running E85 (3 gallons) and now with the ISO tune.
I can only give positive reviews of Terry at BMS and the products that he has provided for the N55. Sorry to hear this and hope that you enjoy your 335is. That is a purdy car! |

Make sure to use the boost gauge overlay in order to check that you're hitting the proper boost

Just to be clear, Terry was great, dealt with him many times and his products are of the highest quality. I am just saying I didn't feel that much of a difference in power, and I had it professionally installed, in face after the first one not feeling faster, I bought a second jb4 thinking the first was defective. I guess I just had higher expectations for it. |

Must have went wrong on the install at some point or you're not on the correct map. The increase in power is noticeable as soon as you touch the gas pedal. I just installed a JB4 on a members 335i who didn't know much about the tune and he said the he noticed the increase in power immediately. Good luck

When in doubt, dyno it! Do a baseline on Map 0

Yes I have 2013 TwinScroll.. I feel a small difference when pressing pedal in 2nd gear.. Car has always been quick regardless but I just don't feel what I wanted to feel.. Terry is great helped me through the install somewhat.. I just don't feel a huge difference no night and day over here. Boost gauge overlay? Plus I don't want to do E85. I'm in an area where I would have to drive 60+ miles to get it. No thanks

Before I was running e85 and ISO update, map 2 with my mods felt fast but not that fast. I went to map 7 with 103 octane race gas 50/50 mix and the car was night and day. After ISO and e85, forget about it, my lowly single turbo screams like a beast. And to the poster above, yes 335is still using n54 engine with twin turbos.

The n54 is a great engine however if the n55 ever reached the engineering support similar to its predecessor then their will be a huge turning point... Thus why the single turbo conversion upgrade to the n54 platform... Stability and power
