I use a manual pump to remove the oil, I was looking into an electric pump but a friend of mine got one of the manual ones. Works a treat an no wires to worry about.
I got this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/Sealey-TP69...mlL&ref=plSrch

Update :

So I've just done an oil and filter change on my 2006 330D using the electric pump method.

Purchased pump, Comma oil, and Bosch Filter for just under £70.

The pump was effective but ultimately a piece of shit. It basically destroyed itself, thankfully this was after the removal of 7+ litres.

I have put 7.5l in and will check oil level tomorrow as it still seemed low on the dipstick.

Tips : Loosen the oil filter and hold it at angle so that oil drips out of it into the sump, there is quite a lot of it. Do this before pumping.

When using the suction hose move it in and out a few cm's every so often so the end is sitting in different places in the sump.

Cheers Rasa yes I might email them. I was doing 30 second hits then letting it cool down. Then the negative crocodile clip came off the lead. Re-attached it as best I could and then smoke started coming from pump. Then on/off switch broke lol.

Yep I used my old BMW Battery as I have just put a new one in the car.

Update : Checked level today after a short drive and a 10 minute cool down. Level about 2/3 up before max. And that is with over 7.5l new oil added
