Hello all, new to BMW and need some advice....

I'm picking up a 2007 320d M Sport Touring on Monday. After reading some of the N47 issues I wanted to go for the earlier M47 engine. The car has full service history and is on 130k miles. Flywheel and clutch have been replaced and the car has a fresh mot.

My question is, is there anything else to lookout for mechanically? Any thing that needs to be checked? Also is it worth keeping run flats or should I swap to standard tyres? Are there any hidden features or unlock codes that I need to be aware of?

Thanks in advance for any help?

Hi there!

Runs flats generally give quite a harsh ride, I still run them but only as my current set still have quite a lot of tread, I’ll probably look into std tyres when I need to change them.

Lots of options can be switched on/off, I have a mycarly which does the job, or you can maybe find someone near you who could flick them on for a beer.

Not up to speed on the M47 engine, but I’m sure others will pipe up ....

If you can test drive it at higher speeds, do it to check for any traction issues. The e90 are notorious for their abs ring issues, simple fix, but a pain to sort

I would check the state of the DPF - if you have carly app & adapter this can be done easily.
