i extracted with win-rar and burned on a dvd+r rw disc on lowest speed. you insert the disc and it says restart in 5 minutes. did that and it works from looking at it. would have to put in a destination to see if it truly works tom.

i kept my original cd in a cd case in my glovebox just in case this fails on me

thanks to op for posting. are you sure its 07.2?

mines didnt work...burn at low speed...etc, still didnt work
I think is the new software upgrade I got or the dealer must of did something. I had a burn 2005 dvd and it worked before the software upgrade, now none will work except for the original dvd.

What do you mean extracted - this ISO image file?
Then I had onother question: my car navy ver is 2006.2 --> if I insert 2007.2 and it's not working - can I back to 2006.2?

you need to extract the ISO image . when you extract you have multiple folders like config, db, dbal, telemat, and tpd and you also get a files.cfg, cdrom.toc, and info_map. you take all these and burn on a dvd disk on lowest speed.

insert in your car you'll get a message to restart in 5 minutes. do it and voila done.

and yes if it doesn't work you can always put in your original navy disk and be on your way.

Sorry, don't wona be a smart a$$, but I download a lot of ISO images from Microsoft( all legal) and I done this many time - You tell your CD burning soft to create disk from disk image - and point to image location. Done
This how Microsoft describe ISO file when you access MSDN library.
IMHO you doing extra step by extracting all this files and then copy them to DVR media.

Instructions
An ISO-9660 image file is an exact representation of the original installation media, including the content and the logical format. The most common use of an image file is to write it to a blank CD-R resulting in an identical copy of the original CD including file name and volume label information. ISO Images can also be extracted directly to a file location by many CD-R utilities. For more information about image files, please visit the MSDN FAQ.

its all good. i know what an iso is and i too dled many things in iso form but not all of them worked when your burning directly from an iso image. so i just take the extra step to extract it and burn the files. never had a problem doing it this way so thats all i guess. only takes 10 seconds. i guess instead of burning it from one big iso image and having the chance of a mis burn burning extracted is much easier. i don't know the real technicalities but if it works it works haha

PS: if you are ever stuck on an extension and don't know what program to use just check here http://filext.com/

Can someone please please help. I've tried making an extra copy of the 2007-1 dvd just incase, tried DVD+R and DVD-R, but neither of them work. Tried the DVD-R for the new 2007-2, but it does that restart system in 5 minutes, and it doesn't work afterward, and the car won't even read the DVD+R. I'll say it, I'm dvd inept, and I need explicit instructions. BTW, I usually use Nero.

could be the dealer locking your dvd-rom (maybe a new batch) when they install the software. I know how to burn a data dvd and it worked on my old software, but ever since I got the software updated...copy dvd disc no longer works

Better than me, right now I'm only uploading at 6kb/s. I have no issues with leaving the computer on for the next couple weeks. People better get in on this now if they really want it.
