Rotors: OEM vs Zimmerman
Later this year, I'm going to replace brake pads, rotors and sensors. I am trying to decide whether I should buy:
BMW's OEM rotors or Zimmerman rotors (no cross drilled, just a plain OEM-looking rotors). BMW OEM rotors are more expensive than Zimmerman. Both of them are made in Germany. Maybe these Zimmerman rotors are better built than BMW's OEM rotors? I don't know for sure. What are your thoughts & suggestions. Thanks.

Zimmerman is an OEM supplier for BMW. Only reason why BMW parts are more is because they are stamped with the BMW logo and part number. They are essentially the same so go with Zimmermann which will save you a nice chunk of change.

Just did my front brakes with Zimmerman rotors (paired with Cool Carbon Pads) and I really like the combo. Definitely go w/ Autohausaz as ihsanshaik and vtsng recommended for best price.

I have used Zimmermann rotors with OEM pads for the past 2 years and did not feel much difference from OEM rotors.
I highly recommend getting the Coat-Z version of the rotors to avoid that rusty look on the rotor cap.

Bumping old thread for opinions on Bosch QuetCast $61 fronts only (no rears listed), Pagid $61 front and $43 rear, and Zimmerman $89 front and $76 rear at Autohausaz.
Or if someone could tell me where to get Meyles rotors, but only if they're a quality rotor; I don't care if they're inexpensive if they're not a quality product. Car is a 2007 335. Thanks.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Haven't tried the Bosch but I do know that there is a rebate on some Bosch brake products: https://s3.amazonaws.com/fcp-creativ...sch-rebate.pdf and Amazon has a 20% coupon as well on some Bosch products. I bought a set of Bosch Euroline front pads mainly because they netted out to ~$11 with tax after coupon and rebate. They'll sit on the shelf for awhile but I figured they were worth a shot at that price. |

Zimmerman's ALL DAY...that's what I have, they're great! Like you said, they're essentially OEM without the BMW stamp. Been running them for almost 2 years with zero issues.

Neither. Get the Z4-35is rotor. Cost is greater but it's a two piece rotor with aluminum hat.
Various suppliers sell them.
