RFT warranty
did you guys get it?
i felt like i made a mistake today. in my previous car i had a lot of issues regarding my tires and wheels, and seeing how expensive rft's are, i got the five year unlimited warranty. - $688. i felt stupid because i was planning on getting a new set of rims/wheels setup sometime in the next year or so. only if i replace my wheels 2 or 3 times within the next year will i be able to make it worth it. |

I didn't get the warranty for a few reasons:
1. If 1 corner needs replacing I am going non-RFT for all corners. My winters are non-RFT as it is and I have the Continental kit so I am not buying the no spare tire kool-aid 2. It was a non BMW warranty which to me smells trouble 3. The CA didn't pitch it to me. It got pitched by the finance mgr in the "back room" while I was signing for the actual car. Anything that the dealer is attempting to sell you in that room when the actual car is locked in should raise more alarms than a North Korean nuclear missile launch. Seriously, nothing good comes out of there. If the pretty lady in the finance room tried to sell me gold bars for $1.00 I would say no.

i take it back - i actually made up for it already.
before picking up my car today, the sales guy told me the two rear tires were worn out and needed to be replaced. (it is a used vehicle) they actually already put on the new tires. and they told me it was 600 for both, but they were gonna charge me only 300. so i was like bs and talked to the manager. i ended it up getting it for free. so although i bought the warranty, it was just like paying to those two wheels eh? |

I got it and i think it's such a great deal!
Especially at that price! Alot of people pay like $2k+ I lease my last car, all 4 tires got bubbles at one point or another. . . Right before it the tires tread was getting too low i took it to the dealer and had them give me 4 new tires! Well i think i had to pay like $1,400 or something but the insurance sent me the check a few weeks later. I went my whole lease without having to buy new tires. $688 is nothing when you'll end end paying about that for just 2 |

I totally think it's worth it. I bought the tire & wheel insurance (5yr/unlimited) for a bit under a grand when I bought the car. I've had the car for 7 mos now (7 mos anniversary today!) and have more than made up for it by having three tires (one had bubbles, two had nails) and two cracked rims replaced.
Do it! |

needed to use the insurance twice... total saved 2k... total spent like 500 for the plan+200 for alignments.
for the record, the insurance is by auto nations i think... i'm assuming this would be the same for all people.

This why the RFT warranty is great!
"P.S Not a fun week with the 335. Woke up past Tuesday to a bubble in the right front tire. Ordered two replacement tires (OEM runflats) from tirerack at $550." |

Read the policy contract carefully. Maybe it is for wheels/tires in general and not necessary the OEM wheels/tires. Which would mean it will cover anything, including the aftermarket set you want to put on

This world is getting more and more disonest, one the dealership try to charge 300 whereas he had to charge nothing, unless you scream and complain you will pay. The other does not replace tires with bubbles, WTF, what is the warranty for them? Nails? Does nails will screw your wheels? I agree with the person that says that anything that will be sold on the back room with the cameras is total BS.

Those who don't have insurance and want to continue with their RFTs, just go to Discount Tire when they're new and buy *their* warranty for $75-ish. Unlimited fixes and replacements for the *life* of the tire. Can't beat it.

Policy contract will cover aftermarket wheels and if your contact is to rft.. long as you have rft on your set of aftermarket wheels it will cover it.
"Special Provisions relating to Aftermarket Wheels: In the even the vehicle has damage to an aftermarket wheel, please be advised that it may not possible for the repair facility to locate an exact matching replacement wheel. Aftermarket wheels are generally discontinued after a certain time period. It is the responsibility of the repair facility to locate a replacement. If a matching replacement cannot be found, a cash settlement will be made to the CONTRACT HOLDER in the amount for which the origina; wheel was purchased." |
