Buy a beater and resell bro. If you buy an older Honda you probably won't lose money. You can buy my Integra for $4,000.

That's the problem... the car rental places know that if they had manual trans... that people would rent them and drive them to the grave in no time.
Maybe someone on the board here will be gracious enough to help you out. I learned the day I bought my first manual trans... the dealer salesperson taught me on one of their cars, and I ended up buying a car from them.

LOL, nicee. This was a problem for me a couple of years ago as well. I always wanted to drive stick, but my friends all had too nice of a car or too modified to learn on. I looked for places that have stick shifts for rent, but they were all over 21. I was 18-19 at the time. I finally got to driving stick about 2-3 times in an SC300. After that I went out and bought the Evo, stalled probably 10 times on the way home.

i would love to get back into driving stick as well. the first car i drove stick on was a 1994 e36 325i lol. im afraid that if i get a new car in the future, i wont be as 'capable' id love to practice also. i only know basic skills, id really like to learn the proper way to launch, in addition to other advance techniques.

Go apply for a job at FedEx or UPS so you can drive their delivery trucks. Then quit.

the GT3 is a VERY easy car to drive. don't worry. i'm sure you'll do fine. also, about the Elise's at Enterprise, get your brother or parent to rent it for you and put your name on it, it's like an extra $15 or so a day to add someone to the rental policy as long as they are over 18.
