The Gp's sure have some blue in them...
Defintely no go for the fogs... Looks to "fake" .
But might look good for the Angels.

Those look really nice and very bright as well...
I'm getting Alpine White as well and it seems to match beautifully.
By the way you need h8 for the fogs not h3's .

This is the first set of bulbs I've tried on the angel eyes. I used the same brand of bulb on the fogs on my M3 and they matched pretty well.

I will post a couple daytime pics in the morning to give an idea of brightness. At night, they do seem brighter than the stock color. I just got them and installed them tonight.

Those pics are of the angels as DRL's.(you can tell because no amber running lights) That is the reason. I have done a lot of trials with bulbs, trust me. Including running a power test of the angel eyes.

When they are used in that mode, they are much brighter, no matter which bulb you use. Esspecially the inner ring. I've tried a few, the GP thunders look the best to me for the angel eyes. When they are not in the DRL mode, they are not putting out the full 35 watts,(25w I beleive my muti-meter said) hence they won't look as bright white. The good news is they should last longer.

That is why I took the super whites out, and they will be suitable for the foglights. When running at the lower wattage in the angel eyes they still were not White enough for me. Super white or the hoens, both @ 4300k are a great match for the H3 cornering lights and H8 fogs, when getting full power. GP Thunders are too Blue for those applications to me.

All look better than stock IMO.

ahh y can't we get a definate answer about which are the brightest....

this is the combo im putting together....

Angles- GP thunder 8500k H8
Fog- H8 mtec super white
Inside light- H3 mtec super white
That is the perfect combo IMO. I've done a lot of experimenting, and that combination is the winner. See my post above about the H8 angels running at reduced power. That makes the GP Thunders a good fit for the angels, too blue for fogs and cornering lights. You have benefitted from everyones experimentation my friend! This is what I'm sticking with. You'll love it, you'll see

*****As a side note, I am no kelvin rating expert, but no way Gp Thunders are 8500k. Just advertising hype. They do look awesome though.*****

Ebay was the only place I found them to start with. They have been selling to E92 owners like crazy for a couple weeks. The word got out! They'll get them back in soon!

The Mtec Cosmos Blue are a pretty close looking bulb if you need them now. They are more expensive though.

Is there a way to make the inner ring STAY that way when the Xenons are on? I think that would look sick!

No. Once the headlights turn on, power decreases on the rings.

Like I said I was testing the output at the connector. 35w at DRL level. Like 24 or 25 at headlight position.

On second thought, maybe the wires could be swapped on the actual connector. I can't remember if there are two seperate wires that power the angel eyes. If there are, just switch the DRL power lead with the normal running power lead and it should be full brightness when lights are on.

The only drawback would be if you use the DRLs they would now be dimmer. I don't use them anyway.

****Anyone with better knowledge and wiring diagram want to attempt this?****

I verified before I installed them, it said 35W on the bulb. (Plus I'm not getting any warning lights)

During the day the angel eyes are don't seem as noticable/bright as the stock yellow lights. But the color is nicer.

Here are a couple pics in daytime. The inner rings show up pretty well. The outer rings are hard to see.
