hey long... long time, im finally back from china.

question: cant u use the inner parts from the original tailights? or will they not match the color u use to paint the outer pieces.

and 350 is way to hot for the any plastic in the oven, the plastic will begin to deform even at much lower temps (usually headlamps can come apart baking at about 180-200 tops)

1. remove all the electrical part. now we are left with just plastic

3. once it starts to boil drop your taillight in

4. let it sit for 15 minutes or so.

5. take them out and try to find a location to pry them apart. (once you get a little opening, the rest should follow. BE VERY CAREFUL YOU DO NOT CRACK THE LENS)

6. remove the clear pieces underneath.

7. cover up all the area you do not want to be painted.

8. paint the housing with the color of your choice. ( for whitelines, do not use white paint. use chrome paint).

9. use a dremel to clean up all the black plastic that was left on the lens when you remove the lens. (you will know waht i am talking about when you do this).

10. make sure paint is dry.

11. seal that sucker up and you got yourself ____lines.

12. i havent got this far yet. but i was thinking of using silicon.

A friend of mine asked me to help him do this mod..I have never opened a tail light before but seems pretty easy...my question is should you have sanded before painting? looks like there are a few rough spots or "small bubbles"...is this something that could be sanded or perhaps prepped better or will it not show once put back together and installed...or is it just bad pics..but I see the bubbles err I think lol.

you can use a similar method to smoke your side markers and rear tail lights. except you put Rit powder dye into the boiling water. and u have to hang the lights/markers up using a coat hanger or something similar to not drop it fully in the pot. I got these done on my tails and side markers. not as dark as i want them though so going to redo it. longer u have them on the darker they get!

hi i have a bmw e90 2007 and i wont to install lci taillights and u bought them but the glass of one taillight is broken(im about fender taillight) so i have a quastion can i swap pre-lci taillight glass to lci taillight.
