Help installing ISTA+ Rheingold

Firstly thank you in advance for any an all help.

I installed the Bimmergeeks standard tools. I have a working INPA, tool32, NCS-Expert and WinKFP. Ok well I have only tried INPA and tool32 but they were successful in clearing codes and resetting short circuit counter so I assume the other two work.

I tried installing the ISTA+ Rheingold from the e90post reference 220216 (https://www.e90post.com/forums/attac...8&d=1670832785)

I attempted to follow the directions to the letter. The download was successful, I went to the Pre-Install folder and went to extract the exe files in order. However, 1.exe and 2.exe were not installed because there is a newer version already installed (Microsoft Visual C++ 2017 Redistributable (x64) and (x86))

4.exe was also not successful as “NET framework 4.5.2 or later update is already installed on this computer”

The only other thing that is different than the install instructions were that I didn’t have a “BMW tools” folder. INPA NCSexpert etc. are all directly on the desktop so I went to put the IstaGUI shortcut directly onto the desktop.

I went to run as administrator and was given the error:

Failed to start ISTA
Please make sure your configuration is valid
In doubt reset any non standard ISTA configuration and reinstall ISTA

Please help me. I’ll admit to being pretty new to this but am keen to learn. I did a search but wasn’t able to find the answer. Being new to this I’ll put any pride aside and say I need it spelled out for me. I’m open to all suggestions, including if I need a different download etc. If it’s important I’m on a laptop running Windows 11. Thanks!

Be sure you have all the Microsoft redistribualble C++ file check at the microsoft
site.
Any netframework with a higher number than required should work.
Window 11 may do funny things with the administrator access it
was different from win 7 to 10.

Try finding the istagui.exe file and running it directly .
right click and run as administrator.
Also look at it's property's and you may try compatibility mode.

Thanks ctuna. I still couldn't get it to work and am not sure what the issue was. I ended up removing that version and trying another version sent by another member and that one seemed to work first try.
