335i LCI Angel Eyes LED Upgrade

The bulbs on the inner angle eyes have been replaced to LED but not the outer bulbs. The outer rings are dim. Videos I looked up, only show changing the inner bulbs. Do the outer bulbs need to be replaced also to get the outer rings brighter?

There is no outer bulb. It is only one that lights both halos for each headlight. Which is why the outer is dim. It's a design flaw in the E9x series.

The only way to fix it is to crack open the headlight lense and place aftermarket LED halo rings.

Thanks for the information! That’s what I was afraid of. I’ll just replace the headlights a little later.

You can try different bulbs for different light output.
I tried a few out until I found one that was able to illuminate both rings almost equally and looked ok.

Do you have the info for those specific bulbs you can share?

I don’t.
This was about a year ago.
I just searched “h8 led bulb” on Amazon and ordered a few different styles.

Here’s some that look similar to what I tried out.

Alla Lighting H8 H11 LED Fog Lights Bulbs or DRL, 6000K Xenon White H16 H11LL H8LL H1155 Replacement, 2800 Lumens Super Bright 5730 33-SMD 12V for Cars, Trucks, SUVs, Vans https://a.co/d/bhBCTSx

ENERGETIC SMARTER LIGHTING 9005 HB3 Halogen Car Headlight Bulb, 5000K Super White Light, P20d 12V/60W 2000 Lumens 1200 Hours, IP67, 2 Pack, 2Yr Warranty https://a.co/d/7n4sXd4

KISLED Super Bright 3000lm H8 H11 LED Fog Lights Bulbs DRL High Power 3030 Chips with Projector Lens Replacement for Cars Trucks, 6000K Xenon White https://a.co/d/8P8N3HJ

I think the ones from the first link looked best. Light output wasn’t 50/50 on the rings but it looked the best out of all.

We also offer our LUX H8 line of lights which are the brightest on the market. We have been designing all of our own products from day 1 and have been a vendor here on this forums of for nearly 15 years. We have designed our lights to focus as much light as possible into the outer rings to ensure they are clear and bright

Question from South Africa. We don’t have the brand selection being quoted here but on my 325 Lci would 36w 6000k LED bulbs give an even white distribution between the 2 rings ?

No. Outer ring will always be dimmer due to the design. Nothing you can do about it.
