how worried should i be that my OEM charge pipe will rupture? is it very common?

it's not a matter IF your N54 charge pipe will blow, it's WHEN will your charge pipe blow!

mine blew within 6 months of JB4 installation

Is quite common to have DV leaks or CP crack and fail when running higher boosts with JB4. Bits of plastic in ur turbos is something you should try to avoid. CP upgrade is a must if you have added a tune IMO

Wouldn't the chance of something going into the intake from a stock charge pipe be very slim seeing as it's positively pressured? I would expect a blown charge pipe to force the debris away.

On a another note, someone who is looking to replace a stock charge pipe from my research is doing so for insurance. We all know that some charge pipes last.... And others fail. If you don't want to spend the money, run the risk.
