Finally got it installed Saturday over at AR. I like it a lot, very smooth, no issues so far. It does feel stronger than stage 1, but all I have is the tune so I'm sure it's not all it can be yet! Just running map 1 for now.

BTW, AR has a catted downpipe for the N55 as well as the catless version that everyone knows about.

We do understand that twisting wires, tapping into ECU wires is not a hard job at all. The point which I agree with is the way it's done, not how hard/easy it may be. Some of us don't see a point in cutting wires and tapping into ECU on a 45-60K car a nice job no matter what. Having a plug and play option, sure... but cutting and tapping, no (for some of us - for the rest it may be ok).

Thank you for the feedback however. This is the best news so far I've heard on the N55 platform.

Just to clear this up there are NO CUTTING OF WIRES associated with this install.
Andrew GREAT instructions, very helpful. Thank you!
Guys/Gals trust me when I say... If I can do it, ANYONE can do it. Installed it last night. Took me about 2 hours, because I was very careful and have never opened my hood let alone taken things apart in there. My wife helped me (love that lady she's a champ, and just as excited about MOD's as me). The hardest part was "tapping the fuse" with the red wire, because I had to run to Walmart at 11PM to get a tap. But did not cut any wires. I am confident that I can uninstall in less than 30 min's now and re-install in about the same.
Power is just SICK & WRONG. Turbo lag what? The torque is exhilarating, and it's constant through the gears. She was pulling harder than a hooker on blow! All I can say is don't consider it, DO IT DAMMIT! You will thank me later.
Getting Vishnu catless DP installed tomorrow (fingers crossed).

Why did you need a fuse tap? You just slide it in behind one side of the fuse..

Just out of curiosity, when stage 2 makes it past the beta stage, is there any future plans on making a standalone stage 2? Or will it always be sold as an incremental update (i.e., will we always have to buy stage 1 and the stage 2 upgrade)? Perhaps a plug-and-play standalone stage 2?

The red wire was just a bare wire, and I didn't realize I could just slide the bare wire in beside the fuse. I took your pics very literal LOL, wanted mine to look just like yours.

I bought mine all in one shot. Went right to stage 2.

Guess you could of but ours had a tap already on it and so do the others I've seen.

Don't feel bad J2M, when I was laying the parts out I was like damn where is the wire tap. I was just about to take my other car to the store to get a tap when I looked at Terry's thread on n54tech. He just put the wire in, i tried and it worked fine.

And also I agree, anyone can do this and EVERYONE SHOULD!!!!

FYI not that most people worry about this here but.... Even with the fun I am having my avg mpg on the computer is actually better. More power, more fun and more green.
