Very minor roughness on cold start this morning. I took a video but it's almost undetectable on video. Minor shake in the car that went away after ~15 seconds.

I can upload the video, but from rewatching it I don't feel like it would be that helpful.

I mean, cold starts are never really "smooth". The exhaust cams get retarded (to facilitate cat heating, like an EGR system) and the engine runs much richer.

I had the same thing with msv80, mafless on cold starts with the oem MAF sensor. It would judder and shake a bit after starting 5-10 seconds but no CEL or anything like you described. Honestly, I just ignore it at this point, doesn't make a big difference after 15-20 seconds.

^^ I noticed it for the first time recently as well. In the winter (below freezing) and even spring temps; not a thing. But ya on the hot days I can JUST tell for the first 5-10 seconds its not dead smooth.

That being said anyone who doesn't notice the car I doubt could tell. Also you should never start and drive off anyways so who really cares

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm experiencing. It just seemed odd to me that it started happening, seemingly, out of nowhere. Like you mentioned, it's overall not a huge issue.

Good to know others have experienced something similar.

So, I probably missed the process of installing the trans tune...Which one should i pick on the bimmerlabs site or is it even worth it? Does this share the same process as the regular tune as far as installation?

It's pretty much just download the file and open it and it flashes fast and it is indeed worth it. Better shifts and the torque converter locks up a lot more often

So which one do I flash?? There are 4 to choose from. Thanks for your help!

Edit: I flashed 7576679A....Is that the most current/best one? I can't seem to find the one you guys were talking about earlier in this thread

Are you looking at stock files or an actual "tune"?

I swear I removed all the GM912 files that were not stock for people's vehicles, because of issues with mismatches in the TCU itself (there are two, one for paddle shifters, and one without).

So for it to work for everyone there just needs to be a file from a 3.0si without paddles? I guess that's not that easy since a car that came with the 260hp would usually have sports package too

no, if you have paddles, the non-paddle file will not work. at least, studying the ETK, that is what appears to make the difference between the different TCUs which are both called GM912.

Theres a total of 4 files but 2 are duplicates. I shit a brick because I loaded one of them and my shifter wouldn't budge out of park. I tried the other and same thing. So now I'm flashing it back (hopefully) to where it works again lol...My car does infact have paddle shifters. Perhaps that's my issue with both files??? Also, I'm flashing gm1912 files for my specific car. Not gm912

I see because I used the first file you put out there and my car does have factory paddles and works perfectly fine

So with those of us who have added paddles via BMS cable (or even the wire hack), how do you think this affects us? (Since its really just a tap-off vs a change in programming). Seems like for the ETK I have two potential issues then (late model LCI auto and this?)

I don't think it does, you would have the same TCU your car came with from the factory.

And for which TCU you have the working "tune"?
Maybe you can publish it for those TCU owners?

I have GM912 and also this VO:
S7XAA M LEATHER ST.WHEEL+SHIFTPADDLE+MULTIF.

So, there's no way to update to to 330i trans file at the moment. When I try to flash the zb file, it says "wrong hardware" and won't flash. I have the GM 6speed auto. From the research, there's been hardware revisions, so is that the reason? Also, on the bimmerlabs site, none of those stock flashes work for my situation/car either. Sorry if it's been beaten to death, just would like better shifts

You have to flash a program that matches.. and it has to match the physical EGS/TCU module. You can't just flash any random stock calibration, there are different calibrations for different program versions.

Yea, I have an 09 so I don't think that particular flash will work with my trans unfortunately...I was able to flash the 7634254 zb and it seemed to make a real noticeable difference in the snappiness between each gear. I guess that's the only option for 09 and up GM trans flashes.

Nice. Just a question does anyone know if a 06 330i n52 long block with all accessories work in a 08 328i of swapped as far as anything needed to be coded, or is it best to use the short block and transfer all engine accessories?
