Squirt sound from drivers side at low RPM 1st to 2nd

Call me crazy but I hear the slightest "squirt" sound. like a tiny half second balloon fart coming from my left, i cant get my ear to the exact spot while driving but imagine the are just over your left shoulder. If its only at low RPM thats because its the only time its quiet enough to hear it. It cant be a squeak or rattle because it will happen during completely smooth driving. I do believe its while shifting but cant be 100%. Any ideas?

Does it feel steering related? Might be a power steering leak.

Just noticed my exhaust flapper isn't working (I have cold start turned off).
Does the vacuum line to the exahust valve run down the drivers side? I cant find a full diagram.

Yes, driver side, that is why I asked you above, but you said exhaust flapper works. Line goes over driver strut tower. Put a plug there.

I'll give it a try. Sorry I thought you asked if it was modded. No it's never been touched. I've witnessed it working in the past and never noticed a tone difference lol.

So long story short, Yes it was the vacuum line leaking just over my shoulder somewhere. (Lesson, Listen to Feuer's comments)

Here is the odd part. At startup and idle, the flapper is open. but in motion it HAD to have been closed because now, after capping it off in the engine bay I can hear the exhaust louder. Ive heard the golf T mod and didn't like it for the same reason. 1500-2000 RPM drone. It must have been holding just enough vacuum to close above idle.
Good news that the squirt sound is gone, bad news, ill be ripping out that line to find the leak.

Don't do that. Just run another line underneath and ziptie it to brake/fuel lines. Then through the wheel well cavity run it into the trunk to the left tail light where the line is attached to the el.valve
