I think DJ Mayo is probably by far the best detailer in the area. I think he is a little expensive though.

Hey Raja, you are the #1 choice for me. Car is still looking clean and so fine after the detail. I will miss her so much.

KP Auto Touch detailing in Ballston, Arlington ftw. $100 wash/buff/wax/vacuum. They spent 3 hours on my car and it looks fantastic.
Unbelievable value. Highly recommended.

how the hell do you do paint correction correctly in 3 hours (seriously fast....too fast) and only charge $100.

Sounds like the buff is likely a glaze/filler application.

doesnt add up.

Buff != paint correction
My paint is 2 years old. It doesn't need correction.
1 guy does exterior while the other does interior... double teaming it. A good detail doesn't need to cost $300.

1st off, paint comes from the factory needing paint correction.

secondly, a good detail should cost $400+.

we are talking good, not cheap.

I can do it myself for $0. Your argument is invalid.

thats retarded. and it will still cost you for materials .

IF YOU WANT TO PAY FOR A HIGH QUALITY DETAIL it wont cost $100.

I dont mean a 3 hr blitz, I'm talking a 8-30hr detail.

It takes 3 hours just to properly wash, clay, and prepare for paint correction on most vehicles fyi.

He's right about this. Even Ferraris and Lamborghinis come from the factory needing paint correction.

Where do you get your products for free?

Once you get a real full detail, you'll understand what he's talking about. I was in the same boat as you, until I got a true professional detailer to detail my car and learned techniques and the tricks of the trade.

Do you know what products or tools they used?

Yes, a full paint correction will cost a few hundred. That's not what I got.

Full detail and full paint correction are two different things. Full paint correction will cost a lot more than a few hundred.

Did you inquire at all in regards to what products or tools they used?

In all honesty, I'd eat dinner off of Sniz's car since it's so incredibly clean all the time.

It seems to me like BMW owners equate a buff with paint correction. I kept getting quotes of $300 for what I wanted. I got the same work performed for $100. I'm not that anal about detailing. I'm happy with the work that was done for the cost. That's all that matters to me.

After a thorough polish/seal/wax treatment, you'll notice the difference between a 100 dollar job and a 300 dollar job.

Perhaps; but, my car looks better than new for $100, so I have nothing else to say.

This is the point. How do you know you got the same work performed, when you've never had any other work done? A huge reason they might price it dramatically lower is because of the products, tools, and methods they use. I'm glad you're happy with the work that was done, because that's all that matters.

Who on the forums quoted you $300 for just a buff and wax? I've PMed most of the detailers on here and they quoted roughly $300-400 for wash, clay, polish, glaze, seal and/or wax.

Even with some the body shops, their low $100 quotes included some sort of clay bar treatment and one-step polish, and then wax.

I got a couple quotes from various BMW forum members, $50-75 for a wash, $150-175 for a basic detail, no buff/polish. If I wanted buff/polish of any kind, $300+. No one offered a wash/buff/wax. Anything involving a buffer meant "paint correction."
