Accessing Trunk
Greetings E90 family, I’m in need of some advice, my 2007 328ci seems to have given up on automatically unlocking the trunk. The button inside doesn’t work nor does the key fob. The only way I could open it was with the key itself and I accidentally locked it in. How do I get in the trunk from behind the rear seats or any other way? Thanks in advance

1st, check to see if the valet switch has not deactivated the trunk lock. If that is not the case, the go to a BMW dealership with proof of ownership (i.e. registration with name and VIN) and photo ID (drivers license). Have a new key cut (you need one anyway for a spare). It usually takes a day.
Then have the lock mechanism fixed. And what kind of car is it? There is no such thing as a 2007 328ci.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Correct, that is by design. The valet switch in the glovebox disables the trunk from opening without the physical key so that your trunk and glovebox are secure when you valet park the car.
For an 07 sedan, you should still be able to use the physical key in the trunk lid, it’s at the top right corner by the license plate I Reread your post: I see your conundrum. I think there are some posts on the forum about people with E92 (no key lock). I believe they removed a tail light and looped into the wire trunk release Good luck! |

OP, you are no helping yourself here. What model of BMW 3-series is your car. A 2007 328ci doesn't exist. Is it a 2-door, or 4-door, convertible? And did you check the position of the valet switch? The valet switch defeats the electronic trunk mechanism.
