Verify what I have found using search for CIC.

I have recently purchased a 2009 335i coupe xdrive with what I believe is CIC. it has the dial with option buttons etc. I still can't get music through bluetooth as it is an 09 and that feature is 2010+ only correct?.

The software and maps can be updated but everything I have found that is not free, yes? https://www.bimmer-tech.net/shop/bmw...tion-retrofits

If I update the CIC with that software will I gain music playback ability through the CIC bluetooth.

You need the combox for a2dp bluetooth streamining.
At least the OEM version.
Best to go to the idrive and coding sub forums for that
Or google combox retrofit .

Think I will just use the little Bluetooth adapter for now. Probably wait and just upgrade the entire unit.

FSC code can be easy obtained with a usb flashdrive and the 2019-1 maps downloaded for free.
