My favorite tire so far has been the Michelin Pilot AS3+. I love the PSS but if you need one for all seasons then this is your match. I drive through the Smoky Mountains (the Gorge) twice a week and these tires absolutely walk through those mountains and simply take a set and just flat out stick. They are also very stable at speed and well composed over bumps. For example, there is a high speed sweeper on I-40 in TN going up the Smokies into NC and in that sweeper there is a bump and change of road texture from concrete to asphalt. The AS3+ take this curve and bump without a hitch. I had a set of Pirelli PZero AS and the same bump threw the car off and made the tail end very squirrelly- not good.

I probably should have clarified I'm making almost 450whp/wtq, so putting that power down has been an ongoing issue.

I have been running Nankang NS2 for many years.
They offer good grip and feedback, but tend to wear out faster then more expensive tires. With my low yearly milage that's positive since premium tires world start getting hard before they wear out.

If you really want to put that power down you're gonna need something like a PSS/PS4S. I absolutely love the PS4S's I have right now. They were very pricy but what you get for the money is well worth it IMO.

I run PSS now. We'll see if the new, wider wheel I'm running does any better.

The best tires I've ever had, believe it or not, were Michelin Pilot Sport A/S3. A lot of people don't seem to like them but on my ZHP they never failed to impress me.
Other tires I've liked include: Sumitomo HTR Z III Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 (current) General Exclaim UHP Achilles ATR Sport (lol I actually did like these) |
