Hi all! Thank you EVERYONE for all the contributions thus far.
I have a slightly different situation and hoping someone can clarify for me. I’ve currently got MANUAL, HEATED and BOLSTER sport seats in my 2013 E82. I picked up a set of ELECTRIC/MEMORY HEATED LUMBAR BOLSTER seats/interior. I am going to swap the full seat backs and seat cushions from the ELECTRIC base onto the MANUAL bases. I have no problem with the mechanical specifics of the swap. My question is: Is there a good way to allow for the LUMBAR adjustments after it’s been swapped onto the MANUAL frame? I read that BOLSTER and LUMBAR run off the same air pump but I would need to fit the switch unit to the MANUAL frame. What sort of wiring would I need to do to make this happen? Would wire taps off of the stop valve wiring be sufficient? Thanks in advance! Pic for attention |

Hello All,
Thank you very much for the great thread. I have an issue that is quite complicated and any help would be greatly appreciated. I have an E93 2007 which originally comes from the UK. The car is fully converted from RHD to LHD with completely replaced wiring harness. Seats are powered and heated from the RHD with control modules from LHD car. Both seats have the black control modules and K-Can communication. All was working fine before I have messed something with the coding. I would like to ask for some help with the following issues : 1. Seat control forward, backward is reversed. 2. Easy entry buttons are no longer operational 3. In reverse gear the left mirror tilts down (instead of the right) 4. When the Backrest is unlocked - it displays on the Idrive Passenger for the left seat and Driver for the right seat (it should be the other way arround) I am sorry if my description is not detailed enough, but I will try to add all necessary. Many thanks in advance for all advices. |

Thank you so much for the feedback! I have changed the VO/FA to LHD and coded both seats modules to factory settings, unfortunately without any improvement. Would you please let me know what should i change in the wiring harness of the seats ? Many thanks in advance! Best regards from Bulgaria! |

Just to shortly update that it turned out that both seats have different wiring harness. Once you switch them - all works fine. |

There are a few things I have not seen or barely seen and that's the Seat Position Sensor(like the pic above part #65779125897), and the different seat modules that exist. Start with the position sensor: It's part of the airbag system and if your car has that plug on the car harness but the new seats don't you will trigger the airbag light to come on. I read one thread on another forum where 128I guys swapping seats figured this out. Other than that I can't find any info. I have a 2012 335i e92 pretty high optioned car. According to the vin it originally came with heated sport seats. But when I bought it there was standard powered, heated, lumbar and memory but no bolsters. Let's not get into that. So I swapped in sport seats with power, lumbar, bolster, heat, and memory. Neither seat has the position sensor so that black little plug on the car side was left unplugged. There has always been an airbag light on this car and the codes are for both driver and passenger position sensor. 93BF & 93C0. There is the white plug for active head rest which seem to be working. So who has the little black plug for the position sensor? I will probably end up buying new sensors off ECS and hope that solves that issue. Now the modules: After swapping seats everything works except the heat. Which is weird because the old seats the heat did work. I have yet to check the pins in both seats and the car side but I will here soon. The new sport seats have big white modules under them both, but the old seats have big black modules under both. I can find a little info on the black modules but not the white. Looking at pics there is more plugs for the white modules. Why is there two different big modules? I'm not even sure the new sport seats are heated but I was told they are. I still need to pull the seats back out and investigate what's going on. When I push the seat heating button on the dash nothing happens at all. I hope more people can shed light on the difference's between the big modules. Sorry for the long post! Will report back what I find. Edit: I just came across some info that suggest the white module ending with 861 is heated and 860 is not. Apparently the white module uses the same plugs as the F8x cars. So maybe the white module is newer than the black. My module is the 861 so they should be heated Last edited by Yotaismygame; 11-19-2020 at 05:33 PM.. |

I checked the seat plugs from the old seats to the new ones and they are wired exactly the same. The car side matches as well. But these new sport seats I added do not have heat I guess. They have the big white seat module under both sides. Wiring appears to be there. The old non sport seats have the big black boxes under both and heat works. I'm lost now.

you can check if the modules have pins in the heated mat connection sockets
modules without heating simply have empty sockets

I did end up installing the seat position sensors. I'll get pics another time. It was difficult to find where they attached on the seat and the internet has almost no pics of said sensors. After clearing the codes the air bag light went off. The sensor is two pieces and the bottom sensor needs a hole drilled for it to mount. All is good with these seats now except for the heat not working.

This thread has been a huge help, thanks to all!
I have an 08 128i that came with electric memory sport seats (both with seat modules) and I just installed 2006 330i electric memory heated seats. The driver's side works 100%, and passenger seat almost everything works except heat (has just seat heat module). I imagine I just need to move or run a couples of wires, but where lol? I have pins 1 and 5 occupied on the seat harness
