100K Change Shocks?

Car has just ticked over 100K this is a 2009 E92 325d Highline though I lowered it with Eibach springs but left standard shock absorbers on.

Going over potholes and speed bumps now doesn't feel as nice as in a new car...is the answer to replace the shock absorbers all round?....are there any other bits that would benefit from being done at the same time?...I keep hearing polyurethane bushes but don't know what they are!

At 100k struts and shocks have been blown already for a while especially because you had lowering springs. That makes other parts work extra. At minimum you need to replace strut and shock mounts.

Stick Bilstein/Koni shocks in there. Their damping rate will line up with the Eibach's spring rates and bring back that comfortable ride.

Also do strut/upper/lower shock mounts too.

The Bilstein B8's are perfectly tuned to the springs you put in. However, B8's are extremely difficult to source in the US, as of right now. In a month, who knows.

If you buy them on eBay in Europe, you can get them.

Otherwise, your next choice is Koni yellows.

If you lower the car, you will need adjustable swaybar links. You add about 1.25" in the length of the front & subtract 1" on the rear links.

I would replace all the surrounding hardware in addition to the shocks & struts (strut bearings, bump stops, spring mounts etc....).

If you want an upgrade, get the FatCat Motorsports bumpstops and some Rancho boots. Better on the bumps than stock. As noted above, KYB AGX's can be had for less than $300 on eBay. That's what I did and haven't had a problem. Having the adjustable knob makes them much more versatile. Otherwise the KYB GR2's are ok from what I've read.

As an aside, since you'll have the wheels off anyway, you could replace the brake pads.

Shocks will make the biggest difference by far. If you're money is tight I'd just do shocks and boots and leave it at that.
