DP & Intercooler install north suburbs chicago

hey guys, looking to get my DP's installed and an intercooler. local shop in lake county quoted me $400 for the DP's and 200$ for the IC. seems steep considering the car will already be in the air with the lower panel off, and that the parts have already been installed before, which means the shroud has been cut to size (prev owner demodded to sell it).

anyone in lake county IL that people have worked with before? ive heard of luke G in schaumburg, but its a bit far for me, but might be a better bet.

definitely pretty steep, I just paid $400 for both DPs and Intercooler install in Cincy. Hopefully one of the Chicago guys can chime in and save you $200.

Is not pretty steep, don't forget it is a shop not some guy working form home which usually charge $300 for DP install.
Also, Chicago has higher living standard than Cincy I assume so that compassion is out the picture.
The overhead on a shop in Cincy and Chicago will not match.
I can refer you to shops in Edgebrook and Albany Park but I still can't justify the trip to save about $150 though.
Couple of hours in commute, gas and tolls.
Honestly, I'm pour and cheap but I would not drive to Volo,IL to save those money.
Probably your best bet is to install FMIC yourself and pay shop for DP.

A&L Autobody in Palatine. I had them do dp's, but the quote to do both the dp's and intercooler was well under $400 total. Talk to Anthony.

Try Eric at eFab in Lake Zurich if your looking at staying in Lake County.

Otherwise the other usual suspects would be German Autowerks in LITH, LukeG in Schaumpton , and even Anthony and the guys at A&L like trohde78 mentioned. I've had work done by all of them and I've been happy.

If you're at all hands on, the FMIC install is pretty straight forward especially if the shroud has already been cut- which is easy enough to do as well.

went to E-Fab guys. i tried the intercooler myself, on my back in my garage on jack stands. those hoses are a mother to get into the intercooler! so i said F-it and put it all back together. i had a hose pop off the IC, so i just took it to eric. had it done in a day, and did good work.
