why they look stock!

What size wheels and tires are you ending up with?

Haha stock anchors right?

We were discussing 265/285. New Michelin's have been sitting for a bit. Still need to mount them, but can't beat free.99! 😁

How are you tracking oil level without the iDrive screen? I am converting my car to a track car and have no real use for iDrive other than that one piece of information.

Did you convert to a dipstick?

I'd like to get rid of the screen so I don't have to look at the 15 warning messages that show up since I removed the stock seats and airbags - can't seem to code these out with NCS.

We’re non-iDrive so we can check the oil through the gauge cluster. But that’s a good question about iDrive equipped 335’s... I don’t believe they have that same option! Perhaps either convert to a dipstick (??) which could have a market if you ever made them... or convert to non iDrive somehow!??

Coding the cluster without Nav option code will do this easy. Oil level will be available in the BC Menu afterwards.

Coding! To the rescue. Sweet, thanks! Do you know what module that would be in? CIC I imagine.

By the way what are you using for data logging?

CIC is your nav Headunit which you'll do away with. The Kombi module (cluster) is the one to code.

Do you know what option I'm looking for in NCS Dummy?

Sir Daft, MHD is a good call. Can't beat it for simplicity.

So this is massively exciting news. At PRI, Radium Engineering brought a prototype of their upcoming in-tank surge tank for the e9x platform. Can’t tell you how many fellow e9xers complain about getting fuel starve with a 1/3rd tank. No mas. The benefit of this solution over a typical swirl pot/surge tank is that in a sanctioned racing environment, the in-tank doesn’t require to be placed behind an added firewall. EFab Eric spoke with Radium at PRI and they said it will be able to fit more than one LPFP (good), should be ready late 1Q/early 2Q 2019 and should be somewhere around $600-700. Downside is that it’s not clear on the capacity, but may not be a super large surge tank. Looking forward to hearing more about this fueling option.

It was only a matter of time... M3 LSD and axle conversion! Found a local seller with an excellent condition, low mileage E9x M3 3.15 DCT LSD, axles and driveshaft for a fantastic package deal. Aside from modifying the M3 driveshaft, this should be plug and play. And since the M3 DCT LSD has a 3.15 final drive this will be just a tad shorter than the stock 6MT 335’s 3.08 final drive - which should fit our objective perfectly. That said, anyone looking for an excellent street/mild track LSD I just listed my MFactory LSD up for sale here.

You will only need to remove Vehicle Order option code. NCS Dummy would not be used. Feel free to PM if you need help doing it. Don't need to clutter the greatness in this thread with coding mambo.

A few more updates on hardware upgrades. I’ve had a number of PM’s asking “why the small fmic??”. Well... with some announcements to make shortly (**wink wink**) we’ve begun work on the new custom Garrett core FMIC. This Garrett core is part #: 703518-6004 and can support up to 750hp. With an end goal of running 525-575whp on track, this core should leave us plenty of headroom for our goal.

The rough shape..

Getting there...

Also there is some progress taking place on the rear diffuser. After speaking with an infinity number of aero specialists, we were told the ideal diffuser angle is 14* for our application which is exactly what we went with.

Uh ohhhh... with the new M3 LSD, the giant stock vented fin diff cover goes lower than the stock 335 and past the mocked up diffuser!

No problem, fortunately we’re just in mock-up phase and that’s an easy fix...

Smooth as butter...

With the smaller FMIC, have you ever considered doing a "mid-mount" setup?

Also, you're very close to me

Yes, love meeting local enthusiasts! You’re more than welcome to stop by the EFab shop sometime, I should be up there to pay a visit either Weds/Thurs nighs this week.

As for a mid-mount setup, I’m not familiar with the term. Is that more of a v-mount setup or mounting it in the cabin?

Will let you know - you're right by IND too

So mid-mount... A lot of 240SX (S13/S14/S15) people run this setup for two reasons:
1. Way quicker response
2. In the event of a off-course incident, you're less likely to rip off your IC

Not sure if this will fit now that I think about it..

Look what arrived ... The brand new SpeedTech twin scroll bottom mount single turbo kit for the N54 #errrmagerdddd

For our track goals we need a dead nuts reliable and responsive kit that can take motorsports levels of abuse. The cast, divided, bottom mount manifold paired with a water cooled Garrett GTX3076R Gen II 1.06 A/R dual ball bearing twin scroll T4 turbo and single Turbo Smart Hyper-Gate45 wastegate should do the trick. A HUGE thanks to Jeff at SpeedTech for everything. I believe we have one of their very first kits...and I believe their first batch of X many are already accounted for. But Jeff said you can email him at jeff@speedtech.com if interested in his next round. I’ll just say that if everything fits and performs as intended, this setup will be a HUGE step forward for those of us in the n54 scene who cares less about the bling bling top mount and more about a functional, solid, reliable bottom mount solution.

INCLUDED IN THE COMPLETE KIT (copied from their website)
*Turbo of your choice (T3 or T4 from BW, Precision, Garrett)
*Cast Exhaust Manifold (divided for twin scroll), non-ceramic or ceramic coated options, single wastegate port (fully divided), O2 bungs (N54 version)
*TiAL MVR or Turbosmart Hypergate wastegate
*Tig welded 3” stainless steel downpipe
*Tig welded 1.75” stainless steel wastegate pipe
*RH engine mount support bracket, for use with stock isolator to maintain vehicle NVH
*Billet aluminum coolant manifold
*Silicone coolant hose from pump to block/manifold *Stainless braided oil feed hose
*Billet aluminum oil drain manifold, fitting, hose
*Billet aluminum oil and coolant block fittings and plugs *Billet aluminum intercooler adapter (stock style connection)
*Silicone inlet hose (turbo to air filter)
*Silicone boost pipe (turbo to intercooler)
*Stainless steel V-band clamp
*Required fasteners and hose clamps
*Air Filter
*Full instructions with pictures

I may have missed it, but why did you go with a bottom mount ST instead of a top mount?

Edit: I'm guessing price is one factor, after looking at their pricing...looks very attractive.

Pricing was hardly involved in this decision, although these guys are a screaming value with their current pricing (I don’t foresee it staying this low IMO, assuming it may be introductory????). The major reasons for bottom mount: bottom mount keeps heat down low and away from quirky electronics, weight is also kept low meaning lower CG, this is a cast mani so it shouldn’t have issues with welds cracking, etc., AND should the wastegate ever need to be serviced, it will be sitting right at the top and should be fairly straight forward to access.

The trade off is no bling factor you get with a top mount. For our application... function gets priority over form whenever possible and this is absolutely the case for the ST.

Good points all around. I will have to take a look at this at Autobahn in the spring. Do you know what events you'll be attending, or are you a member?
