Help!

Doing my first brake job on an '11 e90 - front rotors and pads. When I go to put the caliper back on, it doesn't seem to fit correctly over the outside pad. It seems to me that I'm lacking maybe 1/4" to get the thing all the way over the outside pad. The piston is all the way in, as far as I can tell, and I'm 99% sure I have the right pads. Anyone have any thoughts - also, pictures of completed job would be helpful. I would upload one, but I'm already home and forgot to get a shot. I just don't know if the caliper is sitting correctly on the outside...
