the red is from the Anti-Squeal paste on the pads.
I actually like it. If you pads are a high performance road/track type, they would probably be coloured (like EBC Yellow Stuff), and you would be able to see them coming through as well. Its a nice little accent.

I've been giving this a bit more thought. I think I'm going to go ahead and order the yellow paint, same as the OP. Not sure if I should order 1 or 2 cans though. It's a shame I have to buy the brake aerosol cleaner separately as it won't ship to Australia. I know it's a tough task but I'm thinking about keeping the stock BMW lettering and painting around it, I think that would look sweet.

One can is enough for two or three cars!
I got my brake cleaner aerosol shipped to me :S Best off to paint over the letters then just buy new lettering - high temp stickers. |

you guys do realise your local Supercheap Auto sells all of this stuff... and a pretty good price.
why order online and go through the wait for trivial products?

Iv seen the supercheap auto stuff fade, crack and peel.
The stuff I'm using will last a lifetime and gives a great glossy enamel look finish. More details here: http://www.g2usa.com/Merchant2/merch...Category_Code= |

Maybe the 3M stuff is fine for black, do they have other colours? and how's the gloss on the finish? |

Any ideas where to look for letters? Are they expensive? I like 3M products but from what I've seen online Supercheap stock 3M brake caliper paint in spray cans. I'm a bit skeptical about using spray paint because it could spray onto other parts of the brakes/car and I'm not sure if the finish will be as clean as using a paint brush. |

Hey mate, is this a photo of your actual car? If so, it looks fantastic!
I know it's probably more effort than it's worth, but if you can take a close up shot of just the painted caliper itself I would really appreciate that. I'm 95% ready to do this but my only concern is that it might look as though it's been painted with the finish not be very smooth from using the paint brush. |

Maybe a closeup of actual BBK brake paint compared to painted calipers would be great to compare..from what I remember thru" pictures on the forum, think the BBK too had a painty feel to it.

I'll have my wheels off next week so will take a pic then (if I remember). I rushed the job a little, only did 2 coats so you can kinda see uneven spots if you are trying to nit pick, but I'm satisfied with it. If you want a super nice enamel 100% finish, do 3 coats and you'll be sweet. |
