Combox retrofit wire questions

Hi guys, I just did the CIC retrofit and everything worked like a charm. Didnt need the FSC code. Navi works.
It has the option for USB and AUX in the CIC but my AUX doesnt work. I ran a wire to theh glove box with the USB port but I didnt have one from factory.
I had the AUX in the arm rest originally but that doesnt work with my new CIC. So I purchased this USB/AUX on ebay but not sure how it should all connect.
I know how to connect the MOST cable and the 36 pin conector, I already made swapped the wires from the old connector to the new connector i purchased from BMW. The connections on the other end of the combox are a bit different than what I had going to the TCU and wanted to know how those would connect. Thanks guys!!

What is that extra pink/purple wire/cable? It has an extra MOST cable wrapped up in the black tape next to it. It wasn't being used.

I believe this, along with the MOST connector, is for the satellite radio receiver.

Ok, thanks. What got me a bit confused is that the MOST isnt connected and not causing any issues.

That's because it's disconnected at the HUB. If you add a satellite receiver - older CIC's use separate receivers in the trunk, newer CIC's (i believe sometime in 2010) use an integrated satellite receiver in the CIC unit - you would need to connect the cables to the fiber optic HUB.

Oh alright. I don't need those connections then. Just trying to figure out why CIC works but I can't read it with NCS. And Combox won't read either.

Likely because you have an open circuit in your most loop. Any fibre connections need to be terminated. Most loop terminators are about 5 bucks on eBay

Have you changed your VO yet ?

I don't think i have an open MOST loop, because if i did, my amp wouldn't work either right? I had a open MOST loop before and my whole system stopped working. What I did was connect the MOST connection from the TCU and connected it to the combox. But i do have an extra MOST loop terminator.
I added so far #0909(changed it to #0311) added $6VA, $6VC, $614, $615, $644.

In your pictures above you have the USB hooked to a cable that goes to the back of the CIC. I think it needs to hook to the combox. That is how mine is with OEM USB.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-BMW-CIC-...AAAOSwRgJXjxkV

Next, your audio aux in wires currently run to the CIC. They need to be extended and run back to the appropriate pins of the combox connector. TCU never had audio aux in wires.

Personally I would just use the bluetooth audio and not even use the USB. Your ebay USB wiring is not for use with a combox.

Thanks for the response! I actually purchased that cable 2 weeks ago. Waiting for its arrival.
Would you happen to know what the pins are on the combox for the AUX?

I didnt have a Mulf2 installed. Just a TCU. Regardless if I had the it or not, I can still use the diagram to insert the pins into the Combox connector and theoretically it should work, right?

I made all the connections for the AUX to combox.
I noticed that I still have one solid green wire in the TCU grey connector. Not sure where that goes.

I still can't read the CIC or MEDIA. Software issue?
Do I need to update them?
With the MOST LOOP. Does the L7 come before or after the COMBOX?
Could my combox be faulty and be causing the issue why I have no sound?
That still wouldnt explain why I can't read CIC

Mate as long as the wires in the chart are posted you should be ok. Did you power pin 1,2 or both?
When you're in ncs expert and you go f1 f3 select e89, ok it should write an fa text file to your work folder post up that first.

Im not an expert but it looks like VO has been changed succesfully. Which codes did you remove ? check your VO here http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=717103
and remove anything "telematic"

If theres nothing in it, it means that it must be a most loop, wiring issue or faulty box or could be computer software issue.

You said before that you had a spare loop and that loop might be disconnected at the hub. try swapping them around maybe?

Also its quite easy to mix up which pins are which on the combox connector so take a photo of the pin rack out of the socket and it should be fairly obvious if the pins are correct...

Like i said - I'm not an expert but there are others here who are and hopefully they can correct me if I've got anything wrong

The most loop should be fine, the system and sound works if I disconnect the combox and put the most loop connector in its place. So no combox or tcu and it works. Once I connect the combox, it all stops working.

What can cause the CIC to work but not connect? My daten files are >60.1

Daten looks relatively recent ... don't know about your other question ... maybe shout out to people in your area and do some module swaps and see what happens ?

I removed the $6AA and $6AB and still same issue.
I then updated build date to #0712 and still no luck.
My build date on the COMBOX is 03/2011

I think the first thing I need to fix is getting NCS to read CIC. Does it mean I need a software update? Who can help me program my car remotely?

I would find another combox and try it first. Nothing you are doing should affect you trying to read CIC really...

It could be your wiring too, take a photo of your plug and compare it to others that you find online it's a dead set give away. The loom that I bought was already plugged but once I re pinned it it started working for me. It's easy to get the pin positions wrong is all I'm saying.
