Some useful links.

There's a Holiday Inn Express in the city centre, which offers good value rooms. http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/925/en/hd/bfyvl

There are hotels ranging from the Hilton in the centre to country hotels on the outskirts. http://www.visitbradford.com/

Restaurant link for those who are currying.

http://www.omarkhans.co.uk/

A very limited English selection is offered, but if there is more than one person staying who would prefer not to have curry, we could always split the group for food, then meet for a drink somewhere afterwards.

I was looking at it in the carpark today, and it now has go-fast salt stripe marks down the side... sort of looks good in an odd way?!

Pretty flexible really. We could set off 10.30 -11am on the drive, stop for a leisurely lunch and be back in Bradford late afternoon. People who are staying could then book into their hotel and have some down time. Meet for a drink or curry about 7.30pm-8pm probably. Nothing is definite as yet

Don't forget to allow us northern Jocks time to get down to Bradford in the first place!

Mind you, I was the first to arrive at the first northern meet anyway so not a real problem unless you make it before 10.00am

Hi Alan. Thought we could meet between 10.30 and 11am to give people travelling time. I'll choose a meeting point with coffee and food so people can refuel. Then a leisurely drive, nowhere near the distance of the Whitby trip. Probably looking at 70-80 miles round trip, with a stop for lunch, photo stops etc.

2 possible routes:

Bradford to Grassington via Bolton Abbey. To Pateley Bridge, reservoirs and Otley

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,0.439453&z=11

Bradford to Grassington via Bolton Abbey. To Malham Tarn, Malham Cove, Skipton and Haworth village.

That's fine Gav. Either route is OK for me as I know neither of them. I noticed on your first map that it looked a little shorter than the Whitby round trip - no bad thing really.

Any preferences for hotel for people who are staying?

PeteJ, that would be fine - but which way would you normally go? I would intend going M74 to M6

I'd plump for the second route, more twisty stuff and some good 'climbs' into the 'gods'. Avoids Otley as well which can be busy on a Saturday?

Both routes have great roads and scenery though.
