The 335d isn't that quick to launch, especially if the torque convertor wasn't locked up.

That's easily enough to equalise the 0-60 times compared to a well driven manual e46 330i

Takes a good driver with lots of practise to get a manual car off the line.

The 335d, needs a brake boost for sure, but even without that it will go off the line immensely well considering full torque is achieved at 1700rpm.

Jeez sod that for a game. Go out and do it again properly please across country and use that POWER otherwise buy a Nissan Micra.

There's plenty of good roads left in the UK for obliterating speed limits apparently.
i remeber when the chems were just kids

But, point taken, i will hunt him down, and DESTROY him!!!

just to clear things up...ahem, passed him @ 140, ahem

i raced my friends e46 330i (230bhp) with my e93 330i (272bhp) from 0 and i more or less left him for dust past 60mph (was close to 60 though) so yours must be much quicker (especially since mine weighs 1750kg standard plus i had 2 people in the car).

in all honesty, i just wanted to pass the mondeo at the lights, outside lane, red light, standing still, sat behind de badged 330i, fiddling with iDrive etc.. checked the BM's lip spoiler, thought, pondered, could be a 325i maybe, fiddled with iDrive some more, adjusted heated seat setting, oops green, shit he's got off, floor it, shit nearly rammed him, back off, he's still going......you get the jist...

i wasn't out to blast anyone, just enjoyed the spirt

335d is awesome by the way

Mate if he launched off without you suspecting he is gonna get a
good start and you will struggle to initially make ground as he has not only a time advantage but already covered ground and up on spee before you. I had similar with a 300HP VXR astra. I didn't know he was going to go. In end I couldn't pull past right
away. Started making massive ground at 80mph though. When we had another go equally
from standig start i killed it. Just like if your one
was equal you would have mullered him quite
comprehensively

yeah it was initially just a squirt upto 60, so spot on there mate.

the 335d ain't got much traction in the wet with the RFT's on, thing has a hair trigger, good fun though, but need better rubber!! Mmmmm rubber

Not something you would want to disclose on a public forum though.

exactamondo mr DXB man

i know this, but let's just say he was a mondeo, like the guy on the inside who shat his pants when we both took off, if he floored it, i could have got out checked the boot was shut, selected some random tune on the idrive, floored it and still got passed him before the other side of the lights

which i'm sure you'll agree in a 335d you can do that alot, the point i guess i'm trying to make, is 'them old BM's still have a lot of go in em'
which is a good thing, because i love BM's...everyone's a winner

Exactly .. all you said is that the 330i was quite quick and it is.

I don't know why that sparks a load of discussion about 0-100 times etc ...

The e46 330i might be a few years old, but it's a torquey 3.0 litre straight six. BMW didn't make them for a laugh. They were the top of the 3'er range.

I don't know what sparks 0-60 times and 0-100 times but 'pump and squirt' surely falls into that bracket.

All good fun. Roll on dry roads eh!!
