£10k 335i e92's are here

I've been keeping an eye on the price of these on Autotrader as my car is quick approaching this mark and i've had a couple of goes at selling to not much interest.

For the first time there is now one just under 10K (albeit 109k miles), but what I would deem a decent car around 11k.(57k miles). This is late e46 330ci money.

Just how much further can they drop before they bottom out? And is this the performance bargain of the year?

Given ill now be doing sod all mileage... and a remapped 335i is M3 territory performance wise, i might well be tempted with these early next yr.

Its a whole heap of car for the money.

I think its the wasted money that puts people off.

I looked at getting a 335i due to them costing less than a 320d but after working out the cost to own i just couldn't handle pouring all that money down the drain.

The huge road tax, insurance cost and the fact that it would need refuelling twice as much as a 320d just made it really hard to justify.

Then there's the huge depreciation that anything with a 3litre petrol engine will have to suffer.

It's such a shame we have such bullshit road taxation and ripoff fuel/insurance costs otherwise motoring would be a more enjoyable affair.

Can't see anything stopping the values falling until the economy gets back into some sort of shape. Of course receiving a bad press on internet forums won't be helping either.

Makes me even more sure I'd be better off taking mine down to Birds and sticking the B3 suspension and Quaife on it than trying to sell it...

That is an absolute bargain!

I would say even the 3l diesels are taking a kicking as well (not to the same extent though).

Looks like the 320d is the sweet spot for the used buyer.

There will always be a few wise people who realise a couple of hundred quid extra on annual road tax is nothing if the car is cheaper and if you actually appreciate the larger engine. Joe Bloggs will be happy to pay 2 or 3 grand more for his 320d and quote the economy figures the book tells him he gets whereas the enthusiast will recognise the bargain performance car he has got.

£300 more tax per year and double fuel bills, so for me an extra £1500 on fuel.

Then there's the terrible resale and insurance in my case was also about £600 more. may be less for others.

Over 3 years that is a lot of money.

I take it the ones at 10k are without nav?

When I bought mine last year, cheapest with nav on autotrader was 15-16k and high miles. I payed MUCH more for a fully loaded one from a dealer.

I am gutted I have lost so much on my 335i in the 13 months I have had it. I'm sure I could have purchased a brand new 911 and lost less!

Lesson learned, I will never buy used again. You end up loosing way more.

Totally agree, everytime I press the start button on my 335i it puts smile on my face...priceless

There's nothing sweet about my wife 2.2 oil burning civic, just a constant rattle, and an engine the runs out of puff at less than 4.5krpm. Still she loves the high mpg but petrol prices will have to triple before I even consider parting my cash for a oil burner.

Agreed.. If you want a 3 series coupe, it has to have a big 3.0 engine. If you buy a 2.0 diesel, it's all show and no go. Imagine Porsche doing a 911 2.0D. Will never happen!

I'm always amazed just how cheap a 335i is to run - £453 insurance, £260 road tax. Two yearly service and 30 mpg. Plus shattering performance on tap!! Win!!
