My 2010 E91 xDrive MT has been pretty good to me for the last 165k miles until now. My Autel AL539 scan tool pulls a P15B9 error code. And my dash is lit up like a Christmas tree! Looking for some guidance on probable causes! Thanks.

That looks exactly like my dash when my transfer case actuator motor went out, the part isn't that expensive but if you can't do it yourself it's gonna get expensive fast.

You can drive it like that til you can get it fixed, but every light you see it's something on your car that wont work properly besides the brakes, I'd be mainly worried about the ABS being non functional, look up servo motor failure, you should get plenty of results.

My dash looked like that after I swapped out my steering wheel, due to the battery being disconnected I assume. Shut it off, restarted it and drove very slow turning the wheel for a little bit and it was gone next time I started the car. Fingers crossed something so simple can resolve your issue. How's your battery? Was it disconnected?

So, really you need a scanner that can speak Munich Bavarian. Otherwise you're just throwing parts at it and hoping something sticks.

Battery is relatively new and it hasn't been disconnected since I replaced the starter earlier in April.

In fact I was looking into getting another scan tool. This one obviously doesn't speak Deutsche nor does it scan anything related to ABS, wheel speed sensors, etc. Do you have one you'd recommend? Thanks.

I have the Foxwell NT520 Pro and it works well. My dash lit up like a christmas tree last week, was able to pull the codes and it was just a rear left ABS sensor. Took 20 min to replace.

The Foxwell is also good for monitoring certain things or doing a scan of all the car's modules for faults. You can scan occasionally to see if water pump faults are happening which will give you a heads up on a water pump failure. I also use it to read the transmission fluid temp when refilling the transmission after a fluid/filter change,

No need to spend Hundred$ on Scan Tool. If you have a Windows OS Laptop, you can download INPA (BMW Factory-Level Diagnostic Software), and ISTA (BMW Dealer-Level Diagnostic Software, with Shop Manual). Only cost to get up & running is $50 BimmerGeeks K+DCAN Cable to connect Laptop USB port to Vehicle OBD II Socket.

If you don't have a Windows Laptop, you can get a used one on Craigslist for about what Foxwell costs. THEN you can do anything, and have a TOOL instead of a toy. See the attached PDF for links.

Throwing Parts instead of getting proper Diagnostic Equipment IS CO$TLY. So far folks have suggested you replace your (1) Transfer Case Actuator Motor, & (2) DSC Module, WITHOUT seeing ANY Fault Codes. The problem COULD be something as cheap & easy to fix as a bad connection in one of the FOUR Wheel Speed Sensors. THAT could cause your warning lights, and for ABS DSC & 4x4 to all shut down. Car is still OK to drive: you just no longer have ABS or Traction Control.

If you want to determine the cause of the issue, BEFORE you can Install INPA and DIY, just go to nearest Advance Auto, AutoZone, etc. and get Fault Codes read, FREE. Take Photo of each Scan Tool Screen showing Fault Code &/or post codes here.

So you actually have ONLY ONE issue causing all the warning lights: Open Circuit in Right Front Wheel Speed
Sensor. Attached are 3 ISTA ScreenPrints for your 2010 E91 328iX, showing the Wiring between DSC Module and Sensor;
Location of the Sensor, B1; AND Location of the Connector, X113. BEFORE you just ASSume you need a new Sensor
(you MAY ;-), check the wiring, both visually and electrically with Multimeter. If you need suggestions on HOW to test,
please inquire.

Good information thank you. Before I remove the wheel and inspect the wiring on the sensor, I will order a new one. Rather have it on hand. Thanks again.

Maybe not plausible, but on my Volvo, when the battery was defective due to old age it would throw a ton of random errors, brake failure, etc. It still had some juice but was weak. While you're at AutoZone, you could ask them to double check if your battery is defective/ dead. What do you guys think, is this possible? Though on my Volvo it would have trouble starting and the lights would be dim, so if you don't have those signs your new battery must be okay then?

My battery isn’t very old and I replaced the starter earlier this year. Fires right up no issue!
