Coding options for BimmerGeeks ProTools app.
Hey all, I made this list for my own agenda and figured I’d post it here for everyone else to use.
Here is a list of options that can be coded via Protools. I will edit the post and add more options as I find them, or add options that someone else posts in the comments. Feel free to comment other options you’ve used! A quick guide on how to code options. Example: Setting fog lights to welcome lights. (1st selection-Main category) Safety. (2nd selection-Sub category) FRM. (3rd) Coding (4th) Edit coding (5th) It will prompt you to make a back up. You can make a backup if you want to save your settings before changing anything else. I made a back up for my E90 FRM. A back up is good in case a module is default coded and you lose all your settings. Once in edit coding, you will see a “popular” category, this lists the options other people are coding. Standard coding shows almost all the options available. Expert coding has some things that are not in the standard category, but it’s not in English. (6th Select what you want to code) Click welcome light fog lights (7th Change the option to enable (8th) Click finalize and done. Now your fog lights should turn on when you unlock your car if light switch is set to Auto. I highly suggest coding 1 thing at a time so you can easily reverse it if you do not like what you have coded. EDIT: New feature. If you’re unsure of what you’ve coded, it now shows you all changes that do not match factory settings to the module you are viewing. Click the module you want to view changes in. Click coding Click edit coding Click tools at the bottom Click view parameter changes It will show you a list of things that do not match factory settings. It’s easy to use, but use at your own risk! These particular options were from an e90. All options should be similar on all E chassis Bmw. NOTE! There is differences between FRM1/2/3 and other modules. Some options may not be available depending on your model year/module. Protool Codeable options: Light bulb error delete. Safety-FRM-Coding/Edit Coding-disable cold and warm checks of the bulb. Turn signal blink count 3 to 5. Safety-FRM-Coding/Edit Coding-Turn signal blink count(4 options) all set to active/5blinks. Welcome light fog lights. Safety-FRM-Coding-set welcome lights-fog lights to active. LCI halogen angel eyes as DRL. Safety-FRM-Coding-angel eyes as DRL(3)-set to USA. Front turn signals as DRL. Safety-FRM-Coding-DRL turn signals-enabled. Front fogs as DRL. Safety-FRM-Coding-expert mode-options(2) DRL_TFL_MIT_NSW nicht_aktiv --> change to aktiv PWM_NSW_TFL wert_01-> change to wert_02 Fogs and high beams on at the same time. Safety-FRM-Coding-fogs and high beams-disabled. Double flash impulse hazard lights Safety-FRM-Coding-double impulse hazard-enabled. Double impulse hazards at crash Safety-FRM-Coding-double impulse crash lights-enabled. Driver window one touch up when door open Safety-FRM-Coding-driver one touch up-enabled. Folding mirrors /windows up with FOB. Safety-FRM-Coding-folding mirrors with fob-enabled. Folding mirrors/windows up with FOB.(cont) Safety-CAS-Coding-comfort closing fob-enabled. Unlock doors when engine shuts off. Safety-CAS-Coding-unlock after engine off-enabled. Auto lock via speed or accessory. Safety-CAS-Coding-auto lock via speed-enabled. Auto lock after accessory is turned on-enable option 1 and 2. Close windows and sunroof with rain sensor. Safety-CAS-Coding-close windows and sunroof with rain-enabled. Wipers complete sweep and come down with key off. Interior-JBBF-Coding-wipers complete cycle-enabled. Digital speedometer on BC menu. Interior-Cluster-Coding-digital speedometer-enabled. Adjust bulb voltage output. Safety-FRM-Functions-Adjust voltages-adjust whatever bulb you want. NOTE! It is recommended not to exceed 14V on any bulb. I have adjusted some bulbs to 14V, but actual voltage on pigtail reads 12V. Cold temp warning removal. Interior-Cluster-Coding-temp warning-enabled. TPMS delete-FTM enabled Disconnect TPMS module first right rear on top of battery in trunk for pre LCI. Behind right rear wheel liner for LCI. Vehicle-Vehicle options-Click edit-find and unselect $2VB-click save-click save both locations(CAS&FRM)- App will prompt you to default code CAS&FRM(maybe a few other modules depending on model yr)click ok. Default coding your CAS/FRM will restore factory settings on them. Take notes of any options/changes you had in those 2 modules. Default code/code in New/USED FRM. Safety-FRM-functions-default code FRM. Enjoy.

I would like to buy Bimmergeeks Protools and seem to be lost.
My DIY experience and capability with wrenches is at least a 7 out of 10 (don't have a problem dropping a transmission to install new solenoids type of DIYer, no gasket is too complicated and I successfully replaced two N54 turbos and coolant, lube, and air piping to boot). I suck - have never done- coding, and am low-novice with diagnostics (using only the Schwaben 510). I can't navigate the Master license purchase of Bimmergeeks Protools and the like - I messaged them, but no reply. I literally have no android apps to my name, never have, so google app store is foreign to me. I have no such phone or tablet, but am willing to buy whatever device needed just for this purpose. Please get me pointed in the correct direction. |

http://www.walmart.com/ip/RCA-Voyage...73W42/53990885 I think you either need to set up a google account in the tablet settings with a debit card or set it up through the google play store when you open the app. Simply search protools and it should be the first app to pop up. Once downloaded, you can enter the app and in the top right of the screen will be 3 dots that lets you accesses the licenses. You purchase the master license through the app. The app is easy to use once you navigate around. This video I made should help some. |

Awesome Serf! Huge thank you. Between our twins and myself, we have three E90s and each could use more help than the Schwaben can provide (coding or at least assigning VINs to some modules I have tried to replace...).

The coding options are nice too. My favorites would be the wipers completing their sweep when the key turns off and when the driver window will auto roll up with the door open. Mirrors folding automatically when car is locked is nice too. |

Protool is android software. You're probably meaning 'standard tools'...
