My pre-Sept car still does not have "Key-Memory" and SM says BMW prob won't fix it.

I have no mirror memory, side mirror tilt down in reverse, auto-door-lock @ 5mph.

The service manager at the dealership says there is still no update for those items on pre-September cars and he doesn't think they'll come out with them anytime soon.

What gives?

Should I just demand CIP 21?

It's starting to bug me.

Mirror memory and tilt down only comes with electric seats or folding mirrors
Only then does it have the hardware required

Drive away door locking is a function they just need to set to active

I also have a pre-Sept 2005 car. After the CIP update (and mp3 update), the only features that I still don't have are:
-daytime running light option under "lighting" (iDrive)
-the auto ventilation feature

Otherwise, I have pretty much all the options the post-Sept cars have. I don't know if having iDrive has anything to do with this or not.

The only one I really miss is the door autolock feature. You have this one?

Also, I should say, it was the salesman (der) who told me I should have mirror memory. And the Service Manager thinks I should have it.

I've had the door autolock feature since I took delivery of my car in August 2005. It was one of the options on iDrive (they lock around 5-10mph). CIP20 didn't change anything as far as door locking was concerned. It did add the feature of entering addresses for navigation via voice commands, though.

I recall when initially placing my order that there was an option form which included auto door locks (in addition to things like lights flashing with door lock/unlock, DRL, etc). So, I am assuming that the dealer should be able to set this option for you, even without iDrive.

Well, I am about to be pissed.

I left my car with them for lunch so they could enable the auto-lock the first week I had my car (in Sept). When I picked the car up, they had done nothing and said they needed to keep the car overnight do download the sw.

I made the app't and got the sw download. Obviously, it did not enable the feature.

At this point my SM said he'd keep an eye out for the sw to enable this. He says it's part of the Key Memory stuff.

Grrr...
