please help with used car purchase decision

i found the perfect car for me (335 coupe) options, color and everything but bmw wont 100k mile warranty cpo it because the motor was hydrolocked and the owner took it to an indy shop and had a used motor put in paying out of his own pocket. that being said, it has a clean carfax report but since he took it to bmw first they know about it and im concerned about resale value. i dont mind about the used motor because im getting an aftermarket warranty that covers everything. so should i be worried about resale bacause of this or by the time i sell the car @ 90k or so it shouldnt really matter. please help as i want to get this car asap but i do have other cars in mind just not as nice as this one.

IMHO, I would'nt even consider it unless I felt I could make any additional repairs it may require, I was going to run it till it is finished and the price is well below typical values. The warranty company may even balk on repairs if the shop doing work on it figures out it does'nt have the original engine in it. If they are well enough versed on BMWs' they will know. My advice - keep looking.

Not a car I'd consider.

Using paragraphs and proper grammar will help you get more responses.
