Hey guys,

The horn is not working, when Im hitting the horn it only says "click" "click" in the fuse compartment, which fuse is for the horn and how many ampere?

Or can it be something else that is wrong?

Did anyone solve this? I have the same problem, and can here a clicking, its a relay somewhere, but I don't see it. do I have to pull the fuse board to get to the relays? My Haynes manual says the relay is soldered onto the fuse board???

Correct. Some of the relays are replaceable, some are not.


Grueling detail: the horn relay switches Terminal 15 to the two horn fuses, which fire the horn transducers, one on each side of the car. If the relay is dead, both sides will be dead. If a fuse is dead, only one side will be.

Now. Is your car ON? Not necessarily engine turning, but gauge cluster lit up? It has to be for the horn to work. NO FRIGGING CLUE why they thought that'd be a good idea, but that's the case. Car off>no horn.

There are lots of reasons they could fail together at the same time. The (single) switch in the wheel controls the (single) horn relay in the junction box, which is fed from the (single) terminal 15 rail. If the wheel switch or the relay is bad, both horns will fail.

This, however, suggests neither of those things is the case. Either (less likely) both of your horn fuses are blown (consult your diagram to figure out which two to replace) or (more likely) you don't have the car turned on.

Oh right, the car has to be turned on for the horns to work. Stupid, stupid design.

I am having the same problems. I have replaced both of the fuses and all I get back is click click I have a 2008 bmw 328i E90 I would like some help if possible

The horns themselves are less durable than one might expect. With a multimeter and a pair of probes, check for voltage at each horn connector when the horn button is pressed (with the ignition turned on). If 12V is there, the horn is broken. It's not unusual for both horns to be broken.

In my cases horn had sound but too weak, on next days after I check my fuse it seems ok ,after I put back the fuse in their place and try to horn no sounds at all so I went to the mechanic and he tested and look like no voltage
