What's the latest word on ignition coils for near stock N54?

I just had an ignition coil die on me today (confirmed by swapping positions) and want to replace them all. At this point I've got nothing but an MHD stage 1 tune and short term at least I'm not likely to get more than upgraded intercooler, intake, downpipe, go to stage 2 on the tune, etc so spending the money on Bimmerlife or Precision Raceworks coils seems like a waste. That said is there any consensus on Bosch vs Delphi vs anyone else?

Just get either from fcpeuro and swap them whenever needed for free with the lifetime warranty.

Eldor coils are the latest & greatest. Stick with Bosch plugs.

All of the above plus the S55 coils are very reliable. Delphi GN10328 🙂

Oem/Eldor coils, oem plugs and done. You don't need nothing fancy.

Purchased the Delphi coils and few weeks back and just installed them. Car runs great with no issues. When installing it appears they don't click down as far as the OEM ones. Anyone experience that?
It's about 1/2'' higher on the spark plug tube.

Probably the same deal as with the newer Bosch coils. When I placed my order with FCP Euro they sent me an email with this attached which described what you're talking about:

https://s3.amazonaws.com/fcp-pdf-files/KIT-00044X6.pdf

The tl;dr is it's normal for them to no longer snap into place.

Dude thanks for sharing this!! I had no idea why they didn't click when I installed them. I was nervous on the first start up. Haha
