How To Clean & Restore Your BMW Headlights!

If your BMW's headlights need a refresh, I created a step-by-step guide to bring them back to life. I've done this many times with great results and have tried all the kits out there. This is by far the best method that holds up over time. Just thought I'd share!

3M Headlight Restoration Kit: https://amzn.to/2IUptsU

3M Automotive Masking Tape: https://amzn.to/2W3wRWl

Automotive Glass Cleaner: https://amzn.to/2Dy4ZCP

32oz Spray Bottle: https://amzn.to/2Dy2LDt

Meguiar's Microfiber Towels: https://amzn.to/2L2GO5m

Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax: https://amzn.to/2XGH3EH

Cordless Drill: https://amzn.to/2PtjDQs

If you've done this before, let me know your experience!

Use Wipe New as a final stage process after all that, it'll hold up for a VERY long time (3 years and counting on my 328i).

Really? That will protect it for 3+ years from oxidizing again? That's great to know!

How often do you apply it?

It's a very strong chemical emulsifier with a urethane base, so it provides UV protection against future yellowing/hazing.

It's a one time application after you've wetsanded and buffed the headlights. No re-application needed

For even more protection, apply XPel paint protection film on the headlights after Wipe New has cured and they'll likely stay new-looking longer than you'll own the car.

I did a similar restoration and finished with XPEL over three years ago. They still look like new. If you don't protect the lights after removing the UV protection (through sanding), they will deteriorate again within months.

I used
400 sandpaper wet
600 sandpaper wet
1000 sandpaper wet
2000 sandpaper wet
plastic polish with my orbital
swirl remover with my orbital
