Question BMW vs Audi essay

Hey everyone, I am doing this paper for school and the paper needs to about some type of competition going on toady and the topic I chose was BMW vs Audi I am for the BMW side of course but I need to find some facts on why BMW has the upper hand vs. audi. I am actually thinking about making the topic a little less broad like focusing on the 335i (or 328i) and the a4. Well while I search for some details mabybe you guys can hit me up with some facts from your previous knowledge haha

I'm actually thinking BMW is rapidly losing the upper hand as their design philosophy goes the way of MB.

OP, why not focus on a specific series instead of a broad over view?

Yeah I am thinking about 328i vs a4 because they seem to be the most comparable. Any other ideas?

Audi is a little over priced...plus bad leasing deals. More bang for buck in a 335i vs S4. 328i has won more awards than A4.

Audi interior nicer quality and LED eyelids better looking than boring halogen angel eyes. (HIDs ftw!!!)

Customer Service goes either way...just depends on the dealer.

Sounds like your essay is going to be a fact sheet with a bunch of Car and Driver magazine quotes.

My $.02. Why not compare brand identity between the two? That way your prof/teacher won't think you just lifted information off the latest Motor Trend.

This actually sounds like a fun paper to write and I haven't wrote a paper for school in like 5 years! I would also focus on advertising and the games being played (i.e: in LA and in Hong Kong with competing ads on top of each other, etc). It doesn't get more heated than that in retail.

brand identity, brand image; discuss diference in brand image among different markets and how that translates into product (powerplant) offerings
Also maybe compare marketing and advertising philosophies

That is actually a interesting idea I might incorporate that into the paper. But in all honestly I do want to incorporate the fact that BMW > Audi somehow haha I am pretty sure most of you would also slip that in there if you were in my position. It makes the paper more fun to write

Another thing is to look at the history of technical innovation... see how copies who?
Quattro vs. Xi , Turbo DI engines, I-Drive vs. MMI, DCT Vs. DSG
and so on

If you wanted to be fair is comparing technical aspects of Audi to BMW, you could mention that Audi seems to be a bit more lucky with their fuel delivery system.
