Clunking/Notchy when turning low speed
Hello I am getting a clunking/bouncy disengaging feeling whenever turning sharply at low speeds. I had this problem and replaced both front axles and diff fluid flush and it got slightly better but it is still there... It feels like it's coming from the center of the car right behind the engine. I plan on doing a TC Fluid flush asap. But any ideas what this exactly is?

yeah, sometimes I feel like one of the wheel may be slipping or something... hard to put my finger around it. Sometimes it feels like the clutch is like bouncing in and out of engagement? idk... have you done anything yet to troubleshoot it?

i replaced the rear diff fluids and the transfer case fluid and i still get the clunking like wheel spin or something... I no longer get it from the front now that i replaced the front axles but it's pretty bad in the rear. Could it be the front or rear axles? the weird thing is it ONLY happens when at low speeds and turning.....

I was experiencing a bind/clunk/clickscrub on low speed turns. Checked and considered all associated parts of steering and 4wd being the cause; turned out to be the front driveshaft.
Worth inspecting while under car as it's potentially an easy fix- just grab it and move it around. Only 8 bolts, $75-150 used and plentiful interchange parts on ebay, approximately 20 minutes to replace. |

I had this issue a while back but only turning left. It occurred to me that the transfer case essentially was staying locked up because it didn't know the car was turning left. I reset the steering angle sensor (easy procedure) and the problem went away.
