Marriott, Ritz-Carlton Resorts - Cashing in award travel for honeymoon get-away
I've been considering cashing in my 250,000 Marriott points for my honeymoon. I've spent some time looking at the various Marriott resorts in the Caribbean, Hawaii, Costa Rica, etc and cannot decide one over the other. Some of the resorts that I tend to like, based on location, exclusiveness, and beauty seem to have bad reviews.
http://www.marriott.com/hotel-search...imValue=Resort Have any of you stayed at a Marriott resort [Marriott (multiple brands), Renaissance, Ritz Carlton] that you absolutely loved? If so, why? I'm looking for the following: -White sand beach w/crystal clear water -Multiple restaurants -Good, quick service -Clean & Modern -Private (villa vs. standard hotel room) -Not in continental US (Hawaii OK) -Outside of the hurricane belt (will be travelling in October 2011) Looking for any tips, reviews, or suggestions... Thanks!! |

I stayed at the one in Hawaii when I was 16, best vacation of my life. It was an amazing hotel, I would say it fell under everyone of those categories.
I will go back sometime soon thats for sure. |

Marriott's Maui Ocean Club - Molokai, Maui & Lanai Towers.
We spent 7 days here back in 2009 and you need to ask for the upgraded villas. One of the few memorable vacations. If you golf bring your clubs and go to the Plantation for breakfast and some golfing after. Breath taking view everywhere. |

I am a consultant. I travel every other week.
EDIT: I'm now leaning towards the Marriott Aruba Resort and Stellaris Casino. It's a category 7 Marriott that underwent a 50 million dollar renovation in 2008. The reviews on tripadvisor.com are quite impressive. |
