Code out clutch pedal to start Manual transmission
Searched but couldn't find anything... Is there a code to bypass pressing clutch pedal upon starting car... Similar to starting car without pressing brakes on automatics. Only thing I could find was shorting 2 wires together at the clutch pedal switch.

I've always thought of this as an anti theft measure

Agree but I think there is an issue with the clutch pedal switch... Replacement On order but would like to code out as on my e39 and e46 was able to code out and I'm not used to having to step on anything when starting

Someone pmd me about the issue I'm having and wanting to code out clutch pedal start... I'm having trouble starting the car when in neutral and clutch pedal pressed and it seems like it starts easier when I have the car in gear and clutch pressed... Really shouldn't matter if car in gear or not

It should be able to be coded off in the CAS. Depressing the brake can be coded off for auto/DCT cars.

That is what I thought any specifics on how to do it... Mainly what the words are for searching out once I read out the cas module... I do see it for brake start but not clutch... Maybe I should google translate clutch...

its in CAS, both break and clutch,
either code it manually, load trc in dummy and will be easy to find it |

If you are using NCS Dummy, just search "clutch" after you load the TRC file otherwise look for ANLASSERSPERRE_KPS.

Tried it still needs clutch pedal press to start.. verified
ANLASSERSPERRE_KPS set to nicht active...originally activ. There is also ANLASSERSPERRE_P that was originally set to activ set that to nicht activ this caused a no start scenario. Current setting is ANLASSERSPERRE_KPS nicht activ and ANLASSERSPERRE_P activ. Still needs clutch pedal pressed to start but does start way easier without me cycling through the start stop button was even thinking about changing the starter before considering the clutch switch Last edited by e36ti; 11-13-2018 at 10:50 AM.. |

I thought you can't do it on E9X because how else would you enter the accessory mode? In the previous models, you needed to turn the physical key, and not pressing the clutch you could still enter accessory mode with one turn. However with push to start, the second you touch the start button it must fire up.

That's what we are here to find out I haven't been able to find a definitive way to code out but will post my trc when I get home. So far I do feel like the car starts way easier so I'm happy I don't need to replace a starter at least

Just curious but if you set both
ANLASSERSPERRE_KPS nicht activ and ANLASSERSPERRE_P nicht activ But enable the need to press the brake pedal to start instead would this work? Technically the car is still using a safety mechanism so it should be happier no? |

here guys. I figured it out on a 2011 e90 328i. Here are the important bits.
ANLASSERSPERRE_P nicht_aktiv AUSWERTUNG_P_HW activ AUSWERTUNG_P_CAN nicht_aktiv ANLASSERSPERRE_KPS nicht_aktiv STARTABBRUCH_BREMSE nicht_aktiv STARTABBRUCH_P nicht_aktiv KOMFORTSTART aktiv ANLASSERSCHUTZ_3SEK aktiv STARTABBRUCH_KLR nicht_aktiv ABZUGSPERRE_PLOCK_C6 nicht_aktiv ZEIT_BREMSE wert_03 you will notice that you have to hold the start button while the car cranks unlike before where you just had to tap it. Alternatively you can enable the need to press the brake pedal to start the car and it will just fire up as before. If you want to do this just make sure you code the following in addition to what's above... ANLASSSPERRE_BLS aktiv have a good night! |
