dad wants a new car for work.

Right now he drives a Lexus LX470 (+100,000 miles on it) and he wants to trade it for a new truck or SUV for under $50,000. he carries a lot crap in the back too so there needs to be space. and its going to be driven everyday so i told him to get a toyota thundra but he doesn't like those.

i don't know what else to look at. any ideas?

He drives a Lexus and doesn't want a Tundra?

The only other trucks I can think of are Nissan Titan, Ford F-150, and Chevy Silverado. I don't think the Titan's been upgraded for a while though.

there was a video clip of a test by Ford and it tested the F150, Tundra, and a couple others ( i think Titan and Ram?). It was the one with the host of "Dirty Jobs" and the F150 scored better in all the categories.

I would pick up a Tundra Quad Cab or Crew Max
Short bed or Regular Bed
5.7 V8 (Has 400hp btw more than any other truck)
Premium Sound
TRD Package
4X4
Tow Package
All can be had for around 40 out the door!

After negotiating you mean right? I saw one 4 days ago identical to your description with beautiful colored leather (terracotta-like) and the price was $48,000 with out ttl... even Avalanches cost $48,000

I second the Tundra and Veracruz.

Ford says Ford is the best? That was surprising.
