Radio Works but no sound.

Previous owner said he updated i believe he said CIC Hard drive? radio and all functions work. but no sound is coming from speakers and a SOS Light with a cross appears on the dash. He told me that it needs to be programed via INPA?

Thanks in advance D.

Could be also could be broken stuff on the Most Bus or a bad or
drowned Logic 7 amp.
Unless someone changed and item such as the Head unit , a Most Bus
Module or the Amp there would be no reason to suspect programing issues.

Inpa is a diagnostic program
NCSexpert is used for coding
Winkfp is used for updating modules

CIC is a complicated unit I would start by trying to see if its
setup for the sound system in your car.
There is a service mode that you can use to verify things
like which sound system it's set up for an the rev levels.

Also check for water on the amp to get that out of the way.

Had a no sound issue turned out that my satellite unit crapped out. Due to the fact the set up is a three component loop; I had to by pass the satellite unit to complete the loop and all returned to normal. I was not using satellite radio so no harm no foul, could have just as easily replaced unit if I wanted to.

If he replaced the head unit you need to default code the unit with ncs expert.
